In fact, Vietnam makes 50% of samsung phones now, which will be even greater after taking orders that factories in China used to take. It's not that hard to build factories what's hard is build key technologies, which china lacks. S.Korea proved any country can replace China..just look at Vietnam now.

Samsung is closing their factory's in China because the opened the by far largest smartphone factory in the World in India about half a year ago.

Trade war is like a Chess game, before you going for the King you need get rid of the pawn, castle, knight & bishop, South Korea is the Castle, China is removing the Castle before there make a move on to the King,
Samsung can wish bye bye in China market, Hope India will wake up as Trump is attacking India now, India should join force with China, both these Giant has half the world population.
Hope India boycott Samsung, when Samsung is down, Google can flle their chapter 11.

Non of these countries you mentioned has the capacity to fill the world demand, there too can't afford to takes US product like China.
Vietnam 96 millions population is a jokes... India & Indonesia mostly poor people, there purchase power is very low.

One thing that "yes" many countries have to thank Trump is to have opened their eyes respecting their weakness and dependence on US patents. The belligerence of Trump and his infinite ego trying to impose his criteria and sanctions has helped a lot. Now many of these alerted countries are already investing in cutting these dependencies and investigating independent technology for the future. At least to reduce them to the minimum.
In a decade when the dependencies are the least possible, with only the primary goods as a strong currency, it will be very interesting to see how the map changes at the commercial level, especially among more developed countries since the least developed will remain the same and embracethe foreign companies with cheap labor in exchange.

Well if china wipe out all american companies from their soil also ban or order to stop production all china companies for US companies the Trump problem will be solved.

Homegrown Chinese companies are leaving China and relocating their business to stay in business with the US.
That speaks for itself of China's partners most dedication lies at.

Anonymous, 06 Jun 2019What's that got to do with Samsung or China?I only was answering the "NotAnOpinion" affirmation. I hope that what Samsung does has nothing to do with U.S.A trades. Samsung already was forced to increase U.S.A. investment in the recent past, with its first U.S. appliances plant in more than three decades and, yes, it was due to politics between South Korea and Trump with hypothetical taxes in between. His key style. Something that affected their global prices too. Interesting way to do business from someone that lost more than 1000 millions of dollars along last ten years of his inherited/shared fortune. I wonder if his father, Fred Trump, would be proud...
A quick Google search to find it. Not sure if this about Samsung could be related to avoid consequences of the trade wars they know in advance. But last movements around there in China, are related to it more than find a cheaper places to produce, less in few cases where the manufactures movement is heading to Vietnam and other lower countries. The time will relate the full story.
