Anonymous, 09 Jun 2019I thought dc dimming is not possible if hardware doesn't su... moreI still don't understand completely how hardware and software DC dimming work, but I believe software DC dimming can be implemented by changing the strobe speed or something but doesn't limit the current flow to the screen. While the Hardware based DC dimming reduces the voltage to the display to reduce the brightness without flicker.
P.S: I could be wrong about the mechanism, but software DC dimming doesn't require hardware support, because many phones have received DC dimming feature through software update after quite some time like Xiaomi Mi 8 and Mi 9.

Well from what i see, there are actually more differences than it seems. Besides cpu and camera, amoled vs super amoled, dual band gps vs single band, also i've read k20 has crappy vibration compared to k20 pro...maybe there's even more? Like, worse antenna/reception on k20?
At first i preferred the K20, because i'm not a gamer and 730 is more power efficient, so this was an advantage for me, but now i'm starting to think the K20 will be useless and we'll have to buy the K20 pro (And we'll have to live with the poor battery life. At least everything else should be without compromises).

Xiaomi really needs to consider adding bands for full Verizon compatibility like they do with their Mix lineup. I'm almost certain the global version of the K20 Pro won't get those bands but if it did it'd be the perfect phone for me and for a lot of people on Verizon right now.
