I still will never buy another iPhone but this great news for folks who use both platforms concurrently. I've used iOS & Android concurrently since 2011 but I always gravitate towards the latter even though I've used the former since 2008.
We can finally charge our devices with one cord. Waited over two years for this to finally happen. I hated how iPhones never really charged as fast as Androids even with the iPad charger. It still took at least two hours or so instead of the less than 90 minutes I'm already used to. Although I only charge mines up to 88%.

Knowing Apple, I think that just means that they will not provide a USB-C charging brick with a Lighting-to-USB-C cable.

Apple and other engineers from other brands helped create usb-c together. Mac users have been using usb-c already without any fuss who invented them.

I use iphones and there's more similarities with all smartphones from the beginning of smartphones than just cables. Prefer your knowledgeable comments not trolling ones. Got plenty of them already

Too little too late I'm afraid. Apple has been too slow and now, like so many other consumers, I'm not planning to go back any time soon. I'll only go back if all other Android phone makers, stop making small compact flagship specced phones and I only have the iPhone as a small usable one-handed phone.

no. Apple iphone 11 will not have usb-c. the cable in box will be usb-c to lightning. it means u connect usb-c to charger to support fast charger. the iphone will still have lightning. the complete usb-c move will be in 2020. this has been leaked months ago. some dumb guy who was sleeping all these days must have posted this. the picture clearly shows connect usb-c end to mac ... it does not show the other end of the cable that connects to phone. iphone 11 to come with fast charger and usb-c to lightning cable.

Ohhhh, INNOVATION. Finally USB-C worth a mention in the history becouse Apple re-invented it!!! They sure have improved their ordered and re-sold chinese cables with fiction atomic materials, etc.
Now they will add a statue of the USB-C super connector to the church of Apple so that their parishioners sheep can adore it.
The bad tongues assure that after shitting it with the ugly and horrible hunchbacked design. They decided to put the USB-C to encourage their purchase and sell new expensive faster chargers (not included in the box) and new cables not compatible with the Lightning connector. ^^

Android user: "Hm? USB-C? Sure. I got the note 9." //hands over cable
