The worst part is that I know that they have cool tech but that they will test it on the A devices first, leaving the flagships with no differentiating factor whatsoever.

      A back stab

Yielar, 10 Jun 2019Name one example of them offering middle of the road phones... moreThe A series got 4 cameras before flagship S10.

Fast charging was first incorporated into A series phones of 2018, before they were given on flagships.
Tof/ Depth sensing cameras came on A series first, and then S10 5G.

The first Ultra wide camera also made it to A series, the one with 4 rear cameras.

Touchwiz UI also made it first on junior models.

Even otherwise, a lot of features, specially the risky ones, made it first to midrangers, then flagships.

l don't care about battery charging technology. Find a solution to the front camera screen hole.

Earlier (upto 2017) samsung used to introduce new things in Note series then they used to carry over to S-line the following year. I guess Note 8 was last where they had dual cam first and it came to S9+ next year. But now Note seems to be lagging in features. Note 9 was same as S9 plus and Note 10 seems to be same as S10+. Nothing new or fancy. Just stick s-pen at the bottom .. lol

                      I'm hardly surprised.
Samsung are known for introducing big changes only in midrangers, then on it moves to flagships, so if there's a risk, the midranger gets destroyed not the flagship.

What on Earth is a company to do to avoid their demise in such a situation...ooohhh nnnnuuuuuooooo

                                I mean...

Battery that last long on a single charge > superhyperadrenalinepumping fast charging

The faster the charging, the easier batteries degrade over time. I don't mind this but... I'm REALLY hoping for Samsung to slap the headphone jack on the base of the S-Pen...

Meanwhile Qualcomm, Samsung and Intel backing SiFive, a startup using RISC-V.... And after ARM cut ties with Huawei... Sure that Huawei is now working on its own RISC-V asap for their future. More than one must be terrified at ARM and hating a lot the Trump brilliant decissions.

They ARM future seems turning gray to black. We will see...

Xiaomi is seems already using RISC-V in his new Mi BAND 4 from Huami. A sing that Xiami could have have abandoned their previous idea of own chips based on ARM and now working too on its own RISC-V ones as other chinese manufacturers, universities, etc.

Bad news! It's true and more safer to test and get more data and then implement in the next flagship. But don't forget people are paying premium for Note series. 45W charging and 3x optical zoom are the past now. Why pay premium for old hardware's and technology? The gap in terms of technology and hardware's between Note series and other phones in the market become more and more...which could result Samsung losing their Note series customer base. Don't forget Blackberry and Nokia. They were expensive and very slow to adopt the latest in their flagships so they lost entirely their customer base. Samsung Note series should be the 1st to have the best hardware's and software's with latest technology and features in the market than the other Samsung phones, not the opposite!

I'm not a fan of this strategy. It makes the flagships feel like mid-range for a higher price

I am not surprised Samsung is not aggressive to implement features quickly they won't get 5x zoom until next year

Which is good business wise but bad development wise contrary to what people think

People think the more it stays in the lab the more data they get to refine the product but there is far more to learn when sending the product to the masses and then learning real world data is better

But thank God we have Chinese manufacturers that don't play around with patent implementation
