128GB? With that ugly notch? No expandable MicroSD card? Naaaaah. Note 9 is cheaper now.

Anonymous, 11 Jun 2019Both have very ugly and outdated notches but if money wasn'... moreYes, the Pocophone F1 is certainly no Pixel in terms of class, finesse and exorbitant pricing as the Pocophone doesn't prioritize brand image and prestige above features and substance like what the Pixel phones are doing. The Pixel is essentially the iPhone of the Android world. The wrong image of what an android phone represents - extensive features, storage customization and flexibility. As it is, the absence of micro sd card slot, headphone jack, huge battery and dual SIM which are staples in most android phones are absent in the Pixel phones, which render them more like suffocating iphones than android phones in terms of freedom to expand storage to as large as 1TB, freedom to use wired headphones without using those stupid dongles, freedom to use dual SIM cards, and freedom to be away from the wall charger for much, much longer. Poleds and amoleds are nice but not all people like their dizzying flicker, their less sharp displays and oversatured colors. Besides many value display longevity. Those short-lived permanent screen burning amoleds/poleds are only glorious in the first year to a year and a half, but otherwise horribly burnt up with skewed white balance, diminished brightness and riddled with permanently retained images compared to IPS LCDs from then onwards.
I don't own the Pocophone F1 and don't ever plan on owning one but seriously, even at the Pixel phone's $649.99 discounted price, buying the Pixel for all its purported 'unique' Pixel 'features' and exclusives (free Google drive, fast updates, Gcam, etc.), aren't exactly worth losing the micro sd card slot, a huge battery, headphone jack, dual SIM, etc., for most people. Most people who choose Pixel phones really aren't aware they in it more for the image and prestige rather than the purported 'exclusives'. In the end, real world substance, features, usability, and most importantly, phone flexibility and long term use/longevity are what matters most to more users who are tired of wasting money every year or two on phone upgrades when even PC's during their peak popularity never ever needed annual or biennial replacement like what smartphone manufacturers nowadays would like us to believe.

Anonymous, 11 Jun 2019No thanks. 128GB is too small to fit all my Netflix and Goo... moreBoth have very ugly and outdated notches but if money wasn't an issue I'd pick the Pixel 3 XL in a heartbeat. 3 years of being the first to get the latest version and security updates, unlimited online photo storage in original quality, best camera in the game and Night Sight is still king, better build quality, better P-OLED screen with 100% DCI-P3 and HDR support, better skin, IP68 rating, QI wireless charging, supports more 4G LTE bands, NFC and so on. Not everyone cares about dying features like card slots or headphone jacks or FM radios especially since most popular phones stopped including them long ago. Pixel phones, or any real flagship for that matter, don't need them, they just need to stop ripping customers off with their stupidly high prices. The Pocophone F1 is a decent phone for its price but it's certainly no Pixel.

Just kidding, not the price range of my interest, but for 649$ it's probably a better deal than OnePlus 7 right now.

Wait something doesn't make sense, according to the article the 3 XL costs $780 for the 128GB model in both black and white colors and the 64GB version in black costs $900?!

No thanks. 128GB is too small to fit all my Netflix and Google Play movies downloads, high quality FLAC music and 4K videos and high resolution photos captured by the phone, not to mention one can get 2 Pocophone F1's even with the Pixel's discounted $649.99 price and still have cash left to buy a 400GB SanDisk micro sd card. Night sight? The Pocophone's got it and its Night sight version is even more sophisticated with customizable/manual settings and tweaks that the original GCam for Pixel phones never provide (because Google thinks Pixel users are too dumb for custom and manual settings and so everything is full auto). Fast Android software updates? Naah. In two years time, the Pocophone F1 will have lots more custom ROM options with newer android versions due to an extensive developer community at XDA while the Pixel 3XL will have minimal custom ROM development for lack of users. As a bonus, the Pocophone F1 has dual cameras, huge 4000mAh battery, headphone jack, FM radio and dual SIM. So sorry Google, even if you originally sold the 128GB Pixel 3XL at this discounted price of $649.99, it still wouldn't sell for lack of those features above including not having a micro sd card slot.

These manufacturers somehow trained everyone into believing $649 for a device is a great deal.
