16 June 2019

Gorilla Glass good only for flat screen phones. Samsung Galaxy/note line comes with excellent build quality if it’s not the best of all android phones around, but still gorilla glass scratch easily in your pocket and I think this one of mean reason why Samsung went with more flatter wider screen with S10 line.

They do well with scratch-resistance but they seem to not want to test dropping phomes with the glass; almost as if no phone can have an MIL-STD-G rating with that glass material.

These types of glasses have been around for decades. Gorilla Glass isn't new, unique, or better than other tempered glasses, but like many other American products it has 1. higher price and 2. more extensive marketing.

Asahi Dragontrail glass and other brands are equally good.

Whatever glass, everything breaking easily, these glasses just to steal money from customers. These are simply breakable glasses. Open challenge.

I remember having Samsung Galaxy Ace as my first Android phone. Such a piece of hardware that survived my usage of custom ROMs. It has Gorilla Glass and removable battery, what could I ask more?

I miss the Nokia plastic that was used. The legendary 3310 was really plastic. If some of those Nokias broke, the body was swappable to get a new one.

If my Essential Phone was built like that, I would be able to revive it. Now it's a shattered piece of glass at the front inside its original box I'm ready to recycle.
