13 June 2019
This happens just after Huawei’s Mate 20 X 5G went through the same certification.

Which is why they need to improve that chipset, software optimization, animations, and over time performance. The Huawei skin is pretty much as heavy, yet still looks and feels faster. A 90 hz screen is also kinda needed if Samsung wants to fully stand up to Huawei doing the same.

When I played around with it, I realized the animations were longer than Huaweis. With Huawei and other companies, the animations are short and sweet, whereas Samsung goes with a longer animation to make things look "from one step to the other". As for the app drawer, it's different, but it's not that bad once you get used to it

Playing around with my brother's phone, upon screen unlocking & swiping instantly, theres still a minor stutter. Makes me wonder how it will goes on long term usage, is it TouchWiz lag all over again? EMUI evidently stay smooth & fast even after couple of years usage. I can confirm it, the same as most users.

And the One UI app drawer is horizontally swiping, just like its home screen. I mean whats the point of having an app drawer then? And by the looks of it, its not my taste. But that depends on personal preferences.

One UI feels like a nice improvement and it's only second to Oxygen OS and Stock Android in my book. EMUI isn't as bad as I thought, as the features do make up for it's shortcoming. Seriously, knocking on the phone for a screen shot is such a cool feature

EMUI are no garbage in my book. The stock EMUI look is, but it easily customized, themed & can use 3rd party launcher. Oxygen OS are the best for me, One UI is the least one.

But at the moment, still enjoying my current phone & waiting for the new OS, even without it, got EMUI 9.1 update two days ago, which will works well for another year.

By that time, i'll switch phone already. Change phone every 2 years.

Feel sorry for Huawei users. They waste too much money for flagship phone infesting with intrusive ads on their lock screen. All their phone come with locked bootloader hahaha you can't do anything about ads. At least I think xiaomi is much better with open mind. They provide kernel source and unlock bootloader. So you can get rid of the ads. I wouldn't trust and buy a phone from a company that close tied to communist party. Never.
