shakcrazy, 17 Jun 2019no dude u r wrong. Vivo are good phones...im using Vivo NEX... moreYes. Both oppo and vivo are engineered towards rough use. Oppo is actually among the best in build quality but I just dont like their android upgrade policy. Vivo is more like Samsung tbh. Build quality is definitely a step below oppo but still good.

doesn't look like a gaming thing

HAHHAHAHHAHAHAHHAHHAHAHHAHAHAHAHHAHAH. Vivo realized there's nobody who would buy another oversized glass sandwich so they try to sell it as a gaming phone, despite having midrange chipset... "Multi turbo" hahahahahah

If it had the 730g(binned chipset) it would've been a gamer phone simply to much marketing for a midranger

Syel, 17 Jun 2019I use a Vivo smartphone and I personally love the Funtouch ... moreSo many Indians use Vivo cuz of the ads and constant haggling by the local shopkeepers abt how Vivo is world's best phone...
They grew a lot in these years due to being unchallenged in offline market, a trend that will soon change due to Xiaomi and Realme coming offline too...

Vivo's OS is one of the worst operating systems available. Just a week before they rolled out Android Pie for Vivo V11 (the one I am using). The OS after the upgradation is better though. It is no match to MIUI or Color OS.

Vasra, 17 Jun 2019If Vivo/Oppo (BBK) would just: - get rid of their horrib... moreI use a Vivo smartphone and I personally love the Funtouch OS. Most Indian users actually love it and even Vivo is actually growing at a faster pace when compared to the rest of phone brands here! So there must be some other reason!

                                        If Vivo/Oppo (BBK) would just:

                                        - get rid of their horrible UI skins
                                        - provide timely and bug-free updates for 2 years

They would sell shitloads of phones outside China (and parts of Asia).

However, as it stands now, they won't and Xiaomi will gain to benefit from the void left behind by the Huawei/Honor ban.

At least on Xiaomi, you can often get a pure LineageOS, proper unlocking/rooting and a vibrant custom ROM community. And if you like MIUI, you can almost bet on 3 years worth of updates, unless you happen to pick a model from the Xiaomi's selection that just sells very badly (and which Xiaomi then abandons).
