Makes sense since a lot of people drop their phones in the toilet, kithcen sink, bath tub, veggie soups, lakes, rivers, pawns, the ocean and swimming pools :) Not to mention those people who takes a shower with their phone and then find out it doesn't like water. So there's a huge demand for waterproof'd iphones and droidphones :)

Your source is very good. I too have seen this demo at Samsung a few weeks ago. I will have to ask my friend at Apple about the iPhone 5. I can belive it will because I keep dropping my iPhone 4!

the reason they say that they do not recommend contact with water is because purposely putting your phone in water is just stupid, however what they offer is a certain amount of resistance should you accidentally drop it water etc. I will believe it when i see it though!!

OK but I am a bit confused - they say at the start of the video that Liquipel never reccommends that your device comes in contact with water and yet they are selling a technology that is supposed to be for that very purpose????

this nano coating is same people behind "ion mask" hi tec have boots and trainers with ion mask technology and there has been many people dissapointed in its waterproof abilitys so make up your own mind, the thing i will say is expect apple and samsung to add another 100 uk pounds to the price

Russel, 04 Feb 2012Improved better battery life is most important than waterpr... more"Improved better battery life is most important than waterproof"

I agree, but better moist/water-protection comes as close second on the hardware-side. "Moist inside the phone" seems to be the standard excuse for some retailers, for not honoring any garantee-obligations whatsoever. So moist/waterproofness certainly ranks high in my book.

As for better battery-capacity: I think the current trend of slimmest possible wasteline/weight is to blame. I currently use the 2000mAh battery-extended kit on my Galaxy 2, just for the cost of one (1) lousy extra milimeter in thickness. I could easily live with 2 mm thicker in return for 2350mAh. As long as the kit is issued by the original manufactor + an adjusted TPU-case added, Im all for it. Best of all would of course be a revolutional battery-tech breaktrough, of course.
