My Samsung S10 tablet battery died so I purchased the Huawei Mpad 10.8.
The sound is great, everything else is work in progress.
It is HEAVY, the home button is exactly wher you place your thumb to hold it, the screen extend well into the edges of the table. This means when you are holding it, you will have a thumb on the edge Of the screen so it will not register you tapping away somewhere.
Writing this message it has switched to the Home screen FOUR, make that FIVE tmes.
In short, can't wait to get my Samsung back.
NO I'm not employed, paid by or related to Samsung.
Save your money and heart.

Anonymous, 23 Jun 2019I wish they could have released it with 6GB of RAM as a min... moreim pretty sure they have that in mind already... but maybe they also considered the "bottle neck effect" when it runs. not sure though but just maybe

Lol, 4gb of ram in tablets is a crime circa 2019. Basically tablets need minimum 2x ram than phones to be useful...
People buy PoS like this one and then wander why it ends up collecting dust somewhere.
Tablets these days can and do replace laptops these days. They can even run full Linux (Linux on dex), android desktop (dex or huawei or equivalent), multi window parallel processing and so many others.
And all those need RAM. With 4gb it is merely a glorified media player. $300 for a media player is too expansive. 8gB minimum for tablet unless you are Apple (4gb is the minimum for Apple as they are better users of the available resources)...

Again people. You can't say I'm getting an Ipad instead of the M6. It's apples and oranges. People will not rebuy all their apps and change their OS environment just because one tablet is somewhat better than the other. People will buy a tablet based on the apps they already have. So compare android tablet only with another android tablet. This tablet is a good deal.

geordie8t1, 21 Jun 2019You already have a 7.2" huawei mate 20 x phone, i also thin... moreYou should know the difference between 7.0" 16:9 or 16:10 vs 7.0" 18~21:9
The width of the 7.2" of the mate 20x (BTW I'm waiting for the 5g) = a width of a 6.3" 16:9 screen.
Another example is the Sony Xperia 10 with 6.0" 21:9 which = 4.82" 16:9 in width.

Hopefully, it doesn't come with crap quality batteries. My MediaPad M3's battery swelled up despite taking good care of it and Huawei Service Centers can't even provide a definite timeline when the battery will be available. Really disappointing that they don't have batteries for their flagship tablets yet they have batteries for cheaper tablets which probably don't have as much durability software wise.
Already considering buying a new tablet. Probably the Tab S5e, but definitely no iPads for me even if iPad OS is released because they're still very closed sourced and restricted as to what you can do with them.

Anonymous, 22 Jun 2019With USB OTG mode coming to iPad that is not problem any moreThat is the problem. Why they waited so God damn long do enable this feature. And the dark mode also. It is sad when apple releases features that android have almost 10 years only when their netprofit drops

Still no Android tablets in the market have true flapship specifications. Hope to see Samsung offering true flapship with Galaxy Tab S5.

I dislike apple just because they are company which dislike its customers by doing everything to prove they are like shamman and customers are their puppets.

Looks like a fairly decently spec'd Android tablet to me but I would get 2017 iPad Pro over either of these MediaPads. iPad Pro is simply a better device as a tablet with so much better performance and app compatibility, and all the advantages Android tablets used to have, such as the file system and the external drive support, are now mostly gone with the introduction of iPad OS. Honestly there's no point of getting any tablets running on Android at this point apart from the price.

Massaker, 21 Jun 2019What? A shitty IPS? I would be happy to see an 10.5" HDR OL... moreIPS is better in terms of Longevity and Durability, and Yes I will choose what you said a shitty IPS rather than Short-span AMOLED

Don't compare this to Apple, compare this to other Android tablet. People who buy this will not rebuy all their apps again. Their phone is still their primary use. They're not going to rebuy a phone and rebuy all apps just because Ipad is cheaper. With that said, the 8.4" is an incredible bargain at $290 because it uses Kirin 980, Huawei's flagship chip.
