Hm, what glass can survive diamond's or sapphire's scratch? It is just the chemistry, some jewelry will always be stronger than the glass:))) But the efforts like Gorilla are good:) saves from keys and stuff like metal probably (I hope so - don't have any gorilla cover screen having phone, but planing on having so, I do hope :D )

Samsung would put this glass on some phones, then quietly change it on it's variants, just as how they shipped less powerful versions of their SGS2 without most customers knowing.

If you get a Samsung, make sure you know exactly what you're getting.

How old are you..?? Have you ever "touch" Symbian after S60v5..? I don't think so..
If you own a mid-Android phone you must do it.. Symbian runs smooth even with 680mhz (even Belle).. Can your OS run smooth with that? Yeah, i don't think so.. What about battery..?
Maybe your hate about Nokia makes you don't think.. And for the end i can say for sure that if someone want to buy Android phone must check the new MOTOROLA and Sony..
            Way better than Samsung..

lol, 03 Feb 2012can someoen explain why we're still using glass instead of ... moreWe use glass instead of plastic for several reasons (which are fairly evident if you've ever used a phone with a plastic touchscreen).

                1. It is much much harder, so unlike plastic, it won't scratch.
                2. It feels nicer; much easier to slide your finger across it.
                3. It looks nicer.

Plastic is flexible . .but it gets more scratches than glass.

i want to know when they will upgrade the amo led plus to have 3 sub pixles per pixle. im not that fussed about the glass. im happy with the glass on my s2 but it could be clearer with more sub pixles. it would incease the quality of the screen by 1/3rd!

lol, 03 Feb 2012can someoen explain why we're still using glass instead of ... moreIf use clear plastic instead of glass, backlight loss is quite tiny. Mechanical-wise, plastic is always with less tensile strength than glass.

To apply as touch cover material, means the deformation of plastic must bigger than the one using glass. Big deformation brings poor accuracy & linearity to touch performance.

That's why high-end phone use glass but not plastic..

I (the the rest of the world who are using Gorilla) experienced the strength of the glass. I've dropped and shattered several phones and those that had Gorilla glass only got scratches on the corners and broken covers but the screen was untouched! It's as nothing could break the glass! No way I could use a screen protector on a Gorilla glass. It feels so smooth and good when you touch it and you are always sure that nothing will happen to the screen.
