I've always seen MediaTek as a pretty bad option but it seems that they're getting better. Are there any MediaTek phones worth considering? I was thinking about getting xiaomi redmi note 7 when my OPX finally breaks...

About 8xx série :
- Helio X30 was SD835's competitor
- mt6595 was SD805's
GPU were a little weaker
Due to very bad sales, Mediatek no longer released that kind of soc.
About 7xx :
Helio P90 is SD710's (AI is even very close to SD855's)
About 6xx :
- P60 is between SD636 and SD660 with better AI
- P70 is an overclocked P60 : closer to SD660
- I think this P65 is close to SD632...but focused on photo with AI and full 48MP support (SD710 have no ZSD in 48MP)...I think it's an answer to some manufacturers' desire to use 48MP on cheaper phone
- P20/25/23/35 are SD625/626's competitors
- P22 is SD625/450's competitor but with limited to 720p screens
- Helio X20/23/25/27 were SD652/650's competitors but with better multimedia capabilities
- mt6753 was SD615/616's
- mt6752 was SD615's competitor and was far better (and was strangely far better than his successor mt6753)

They perform the exact same under real-world use but phones with Mediatek processors are never recommended because you can't really flash custom ROMs or Gcam, etc. ISPs on most Mediatek processors aren't as good as what Snapdragon offers either.

Is there any good MediaTek chip? Comparable to Snapdragon 8xx, 7xx or 6xx series? I don't really care about the graphics because I don't play mobile games.

That is worse than SD 665.. Even more, is worse than Helio P60...

Adul Al Salami Kebab, 25 Jun 2019I hope the GPU is better than P60! :DImpossible as the G52 is the lower range while G72 is the higher range, the level alone is already in different league moreover it won't support dual channel which makes performance in both CPU and GPU prowess to be worse
