A 7mm thick device will be too thin to hold comfortably in ur hand without a skin case. Lets hope the battery is close to 2000mAh and that the back is constructed in such a way that an accessory bigger battery and back cover won't alter the profile much even though it might bring the thickness to about 10 to 12mm.

samsung should get phones like the s2 updated to ics before they start working on new phones lots of people paid £500 in the uk sim free and are still stuck on 2.3.4 even the ace is at 2.3.6 on network branded handsets

so let me get this straight the sgs3 will have a quad-core processor, 4g, be 7mm thick, and a 4.6" screen super amoled plus hd display (or what ever it will be called) with no buttons like the sgn. all of that hurts the battery life except for the screen, so they better put at least a 2500mah battery or the sgs3 will have a terrible battery life.

And enough with thickness, or I should say thinness too, Nokia's N9 is a "thick" phone by today's definition but it's absolutely awesome! Great design!
It's OK for a phone to be 10-12mm thick, as long as the design is great.

Either samsung is going to be crazy impressive with this phone or really stupid, I think smart phone makes should focus on battery life and make next year the year of quad-cores and thinness because smart phone NEED better batteries, if samsung doesn't make their phones with better battery life or at least do what motorola did with the razr I will... well I don't know what I will do but won't buy samsung.

The rumours about the camera for the SGS3 aren't 8MP....
It has been 16MP and 12MP....
There is NO WAY they will put an 8MP camera in it! Not one single chance.

The only point of having a ridiculously thin phone like this if you're a girl and you need more space in your purse. My wallet is easily three times as thick as that and I carry it with me all the time in my back pocket.
A thicker phone would allow for a bigger battery or better heat dispersion or better camera or a lot of other improvements. Samsung is going the wrong way with phones (along with apple) and are ruining what used to be an exiting part of tech gadgets.
But still, great news if you're a girl!

Am comfortable with it, thinner than that it can't work my phone fit in the pocket. Well thinner will broke in the pocket plus bigger come on maKe as thin as the sgs2 r abit please consider your loyal cosumer pockets, And this time samsung built excusive games for your handset it makes no sense having a phone which is very powerful.
And not seeing what its capatable of doing example no exclusive games for the sgs2 it just pure ports
