It was a Samsung fail. They should make it better before the release. For what sake there is than thin film???
Anyone and i meen every single human with even a one working brain cell would put panzerglass on a 2000 euro device.

And than crease and hinge was problem before. When the device is folded by machine in clean area and is folded by same speed by robot its easy.
But people are not robots. Every of them uses different kind of strength or force. Also many other aspects vary.
If samsung did not rushed the production fold should be great working device.
Now is good for trash bin.

If they nevcer get idea about folding device it wouldnt exist and so this problems.
Its fine having a new technology but behind the closed doors not telling anyone unless the device is ready for mass-production.

It was the pressure from Huawei produ... moreWhy would you need a spy? what happened to the Fold became widely known through all tech media and it was an embarrassment to the company. Huawei must have been rushing themselves to launch alongside the fold not to fall behind and hd a breath of fresh air when they no longer had to since the Fold was delayed, giving them time to fix their own issues.

This is not a product for the cell phone industry to follow, but the PC / Tablet (ignore Samsung for the time being) Microsoft, Apple, Lenovo.
Computing without telephony, make the product smaller, not phones bigger

I had to look this up but the first Galaxy Tab was 7 inches, the fold is 0.3 inches longer and to reiterate a point this is the diagonal, and as you are reading this, you are aware of Pythagorus Theorum the diagonal is longer than the length or Height

Below is a comparison of the Gold, S10+, S10
The fold add 0.9 inches and 100gm to the S10+

The problem I have with the S10+ and S10 is 0.3 inches separate these models, imo as people like big handsets do unlike Sony, Samsung did not release a compact model, i.e 5.8 inches should be what the S10 dimensions S10+ 6.4 inches this is 0.6 inches in the diagonal so marginally over 0.3 and 0.4 approx using a 3,4,5 triangle.
0.3 inches is wa top close if these model were disguised many would have difficulty in stating which model they used

One of the reviewer even said that it was very difficult to take it off compared to a screen protector. The problem was that the layer was not completely covered all over the front surface making the reviewers to think that its a screen protector. But if its not coming off easily, they should know that it's not a protector. They are professional reviewers. They should know better.

And the other one, the reviewer put clay in the hinge where it has a small gap for video shooting. Probably the clay went inside the hinge mechanism and the screen broke.

The phone had its issues for sure. But they were not the only one to blame.

It's always the consumers fault when something breaks, in reality. That's exactly what EVERY company is trying to catch in their user testing, because in reality the CANNOT blame it on the consumer as much as they would like to. A product literally needs to become idiot-proof, and the Fold just isn't ready for that yet. And I assume that the "testers" you speak of are rather experienced mobile users, not our mums and dads that would break such a device in seconds, not days.

Apple releases things in controlled phases because they understand that it might take years to fully mature a prototype that is ready for the masses.

And most of the... moreWell, the protective layer that you so arrogantly say shouldn't have been removed by the reviewers was coming off the display. And when a transparent plastic layer is coming off, well, anyone would think it's a screen protector and try to take it off.

One of the reviewers, who you so casually accuse of having caused the problems, didn't even take off the layer but their Galaxy Fold's screen started acting up. So, check all your facts before you blabber

When are companies going to learn that rushing unfinished products to the market always means running head first into a blazing hot fire?

Samsung should have learned from the Note 7 fiasco that nothing should be rushed. Well, at least the Galaxy Fold doesn't explode like the Note 7...

Well clearly it came off way too easily. It’s HUGE design flaw if your device have layer which breaks your whole device and which you can take off.

What you think would happen after a time without even touching it? Big problems ahead.
