Google Pixel 4 XL renders show a classic top bezel, no notch or punch hole

The top bezel comfortably fits a dual camera, an extra sensor (3D IR sensor maybe) and a speaker.

      great design... I think I will upgrade from pixel 2 if the phone will have 6gb of RAM and better camera module...

      I hope the final release will have stereo front speakers and plastic/metal back! I don't know why ppl prefer glass...

            imagine nokia's pureview hardware & pixel software could do in field of cameras.

              I'm guessing Pixel 5 and 6 will refine the design. It works in threes.

              Good-better-best. It's like three-year design cycles now.

                The Pixel is the absolute superlative of Computational Photography, based on the rather mediocre hardware that it puts into its phones. Hopefully, this time, they vastly improve the camera sensor, its ISPs, and other camera hardware (stabilizer and lens?), so that its cameras again are path breaking. IMHO Google always saves on costs on hardware, regardless of its over pricing at launch.

                After the latest update on the S10 series, I find both the latest Huawei and S10 to have better lowlight than Pixels. Hopefully Google can grab its lead back, but with vastly improved hardware, this time.v

                  this is good news. notch or punch hole is stupid design.

                    Clean, good, simple design is what vast majority of all people are looking for.
                    Unfortunately a lot of practicality has been at the same time sacrificed, still no headphone jack and rear fingerprint reader has been replaced by and under display one. Like the cliche goes - as time goes by, people will see "how good we had it before" after they lose it.

                    Safe to say it's a ridiculous choice to release successive flagship models without a 3.5mm, but include it in a budget model in between the releases. Some cheap marketing trick to make the jack look "cheap" or "outdated", sad. "Let's take off parts in order to make a bigger battery (and whatever else)" but at the same time forcefully "encourage" the use of technology that tires the same battery just enough more. BlueTooth does drain battery.

                    Happened to buy wireless BlueTooth headphones to use with the computer, tedious problems every single day, plus need to charge them. 3.5mm doesn't have neither, just the wire but it's worth the trade-off. Lag-/stutter-free, always connected, better quality overall.

                      whats wrong with having some bezel ? it does not effect a phones function in anyway.

                      its cool that it is possible to hide everything under the screen but what is the purpose? other than the look.

                        8, 10 or 12GB of memory would have been nice, but 6GB should be sufficient.
