Anonymous, 09 Jul 2019Yeh, I prefer the normal photos. These night mode shots are... moreI agree with you on some of them but noticeably those focused on landscape at night are very good.
However, the key thing is not the picture tech here but shld be on the battery life after activating camera functions.
Samsung's feature especially on camera functions saps battery like nobody's business.
Worse off if its 2 year old + phone.

We must use tripod for stabilizer, not like huawei P30 Pro. And the result (with my S10) not a big change. Need more improvement samsung.

I have the Exynos S10+ and I have had manual night mode(not via scene optimizer) since March or April(can't remember) and I just updated to May patch, the night mode seems to have been further improved. Seems brighter and dynamic range seems to have improved too compared to the previous one.

It's good to see updates, but none of these are taken by night.. Plenty of light that makes the "normal" ones look more natural.

The photo comparison tool is divine, so enjoyable and quick! Hope to see it used for photo comparisons between models and lenses!

Zendroid, 09 Jul 2019Most of them actually looks better before. Nope.

Most of them actually looks better before.

it looks great but to be honest I prefer some of the normal mode shots, the processing looks way too obvious in places (water, the edges of brickwork, the high rises with lots of lights such as the last pic).

the way it comes across overall is very bright and with excellent colours, but the additional detail makes the pictures look extremely sharpened; the water in the normal mode shots for example looks *way* more natural in my opinion.
