so is it worth buying?

I usually wait for 6 months or even a year before buying the newest-version of SBCs with significant changes in it's hardware. This type of issue is just typical on this type of developer boards.

Anonymous, 11 Jul 2019I love SBCs. Can't wait for the day when you can buy one of... moreYou can already, but you need more than that to get a phone working :)

Seriously, they should try to develop a phone version manufactures can adopt, to get us away from spyware.

haha very true, 11 Jul 2019i agree/ but sometimes their is good reason to ask/ for... moreI wasn't going to ask, but I'm glad someone asked and someone responded. Raspberries might not have been invented with that purpose but they can easily be used as first entry devices to help people of low resources enter the world of technology and internet.

Anonymous, 11 Jul 2019Can somebody explain to me what is raspberry pi and why and... moreIt's a miniature computer that was initially intended to be a device for schools and educational organizations to teach robotics and such. However people quickly found out that these can be used as miniature home servers for simple, low resource cost applications. Most notably last few generations of Pi-s have been used for Home Media Centers (Kodi, Plex), Ad-Blockers (PiHole), small web servers (nginx) and so on.

Anonymous, 11 Jul 2019Can somebody explain to me what is raspberry pi and why and... moreThe raspberry pi is essentially a fully blown computer in the format of a smartphone. It’s ARM-based (like a smartphone) and can (theoretically) run any OS although Raspbian (Forked Linux) is the operating system of choice.

Anonymous, 11 Jul 2019y u no hot wire to psu?Pi's have test-points in which you can solder a wire to for the power-source without compromising its protective power circuits.

I love SBCs. Can't wait for the day when you can buy one of these, add a touchscreen, print an enclosure and basically build a smartphone to your exact specifications.
