PS: That's why they pre-apply it, they know it's low quality display and prone to scratching.

I had a Motorola X Play with Gorilla Glass 3 and it never scratched in a few years of use. They can't be using the same glass, it's impossible. Does the official site say it is Gorilla Glass 3? I can't find it anywhere official, just on gsmarena and other sites, but not on the official Honor page.

Notsure, 15 Jul 2019I only count the browsing time, I don't care about the rest... moreWell according to the specs, Honor 8x does has the Gorilla Glass 3. An older version, but the pricing is spot on. Even newer Galaxy A40 using the same glass.
Redmi Note 7 using Gorilla Glass 5, but its a newer phone. Hopefully they improve it in 9X.

I have 8X and I can live with it, I knew what the battery was, but what I can't live with is the fact that it scratches incredibly easily, even when wiping it with my slightly dusty T-shit in a more vigorous manner. There's no gorrila glass in this one, it makes no sense.
