And the truth doesn't come from just me, but from ALL truly professional photographers out there. They either use Nikon or Hasselblad. And artists on the move use Leica.

Other than that, less wealthy "professionals" use Canon and Fuji.
Vloggers and instagram "influencers" go for Sony and Olympus cameras, maybe sometimes Canon.

Sony camera... meh... It's nothing compared to even a mid-range Nikon. That is, in image quality.
You can have tons of megapixels, high continuous shooting speeds, etc. etc. but if the images themselves look horrible (like they do on Sony cameras), what's the point?

I don't know... once you go Nikon, you just look down on every other camera brand apart from Leica. These are the only two companies that actually calibrate image sensors and signal processing close to perfection. Others just try to offer "more features" but with lesser image quality.

Nikon/Leica are the best in cameras, body controls, user experience, software/menus, best lenses, best accessories.

They were the first to release a phone with a built in camera, phones with email, web browser, TV capabilities, etc. They're now onto things your little brain can't really comprehend, such as robotics. The world of technology doesn't revolve around smartphones (I mean God you must be dumb if you think that lmfao)

Don't speak about price. It is for professionals. So worth it.

[deleted post]Then why don't you buy it for them?

Huge bezels, no 5G, small battery. No buy.

Don't associate reddish whites, punchy colors and deeper blacks with color accuracy. Only calibrated displays and Reference OLED monitors were accurate (Sony BVM-X300 V2). There's a huge reason why Samsung does not use their AMOLEDs on their premium TVs in which color accuracy is hugely considered a huge plus.

But I attribute Sony's mobile phone failure to poor management. And poor is an understatement.

AnonD-816568, 16 Jul 2019Sony camera division keep making ground breaking cameras bu... moreif you are concern fully on camera maybe xperia cant fully your expectations(even for me xperia 1 camera still can produce great photo in manual) but for other people who find smartphone camera as secondary things.. xperia 1 absolutely top notch especially experience watching movie and playing games.. and the display color is so good with natural color. but ofcourse there is someone like high saturated color, they can find other smartphone like samsung. as i was using note 9 before the saturation is so bad for my eyes. yes note 9 have punchy color than xperia but again is bad for my eyes and i can't using it for long time. im also people who like watching movies and playing in smartphones...

absolutely no regret. i can say xperia 1 have a point that other smartphone didnt have as long the user found what he/she needs

Anonymous, 16 Jul 2019Japanese technology is the world's best. Yeah so great that smartphones from China and America are eating their breakfast, lunch and dinner leaving them snack crumps to fight among themselves. Canon, Nikon and to lesser extent Sony are not benefiting one bit from the greatest boom in technology in this lifetime.

Mr. Electronics, 17 Jul 2019Would this be a good camera for cinematic videos or is ther... moreIf you're a not a professional, this camera would be a waste of money for you. If you were, you wouldn't be asking photography questions on a mobile device website, there are better places to do that. *ahem*dpreview*ahem*.

Personally I'd go with Panasonic micro 4/3 for video. People say those cameras are fantastic when making videos due.

If I wanted the best image quality I could ever hope to get, I'd go for a medium format camera. A bit more expensive than A7R4, but bigger optics, bigger sensor = more light and crisper image (theoretically, at least).

If I wanted to just throw money around, I'd get a Lamborghini. Or the new Tesla Roadster Reservation!

[deleted post]Well, it's hard for casuals but it's easy for pros because of the contracts

Would this be a good camera for cinematic videos or is there something better right now for under $2k. I'm thinking of getting something now or waiting and investing more on this

                                        The price is....well incredibly high..
