Its good that Google Inc. had a merger with Motorola. However its going to be tough enough for Google to manage brand extension and for Motorola to rebrand itself. At the moment they stand at the 5th position and the world’s top mobile manufacturer Nokia is also struggling. For a long term strategy it would be a good idea but short term results are not guaranteed.

Good luck to Google Motorola……….

[deleted post]Americans make unreliable cars, absolutely. Why? 'Cause most of them are muscle cars and most muscle cars will break down every now and then as they get a little abused at times. Same as every Italian supercar. Love'em while they work, but if pushed - they will give in and to the garage they go.

American cars for everyday use however, are reliable. Like Ford's everyday cars. They are just as reliable as any Toyota, Mazda, Mitsubishi etc.

Samsung is not the one to look at for quality products. You know hhow many fear image retention and burn in on plasmas? Well, Samsung get's both on even their LCD screens!

      Enough about that.

Motorola (Mobility and Solutions), Microsoft, Google, IBM, Apple, Kingston Technology, Seagate, Emotiva, Activision, Adobe systems, Mozilla Foundation, AOL, AT&T, Dell, Synopsys, Anybots, PARC (Palo Alto Research Center Incorporated), Nvidia and Oracle are just af few of the many leading innovators, developers, designers and manufaturers in America.

      Back OT:
We can now hope that with this acquisition finally approved, Motorola phones will be more quickly updated, but that probably depends on the carriers annoying involvementanyways.

Didn't even have this problem on my original Droid with only 256GB RAM. Besides, it's the Android system, as well as apps, which takes RAM. Motorola's influence here is little to minimal.

                And Toffy.ph:
Motorola started out as a very small company in USA working with radio type technology. Originally called Galvin Manufacturing Corporation, until it changed name in 1930. Amungst many things, they invented the Walkie-talkie n the 40's, later on they invented this "little" thing called the handheld mobile/cellular phone in the 70's. Perhaps one of the world's most important inventions next to Internet and TV/Radio?

Since then they've invented several tens of thousands of products and solutions.

I know that it's easy to think of the modern day american as fat, stupid, lazy and loud. But fact of the matter is, many very important technologies have been, and are being, developed in America. They have hard workers and smart minds too, Martin Cooper being one of the most brilliant of them all :)
