Which one will be G... moreIt's upon usage ,if your brother needs more battry or password system or wants an attractive band with unlimited watch faces then your decision should be mi band 4 but if he needs a band for fitness activities with much accurate results and a better strap to hold your band then must go for Honor band 5.
This decision was with me also but i am a athlete so i choose Honor band 5

I've both devices and a dedicated machine for heart rate detection
1. Band 5 is more accurate in terms of HR detection
2. Mi bad 4 doesn't detect naps or morning sleep, also doesn't gives much accurate readings, like it shows wake-up as light sleep, band 5 is accurate it also records day sleep without any trouble
3. Band 5 has smart HR detection that will track HR only when it detects some workout saving battery, But mi band have no such feature, it detects HR after a frequency
4. Mi band 4 detects only night sleep, detects wake-up as light sleep, band 5 detects sleep no matter what the time is, sleep data is much accurate than mi band 4
5. With new update Honor band 5 also have a music control
6. Mi band have large battery
7. Mi band has unlimited watch faces,band 5 has around 38 or 39
8. Sources of band 4 are available for developers, allowing to make apps for band 4 , not a case for Honor band 5
9. In mi band you can set custom vibrations for sms or calls, not with band 5
10. Straps of mi band a more comfortable, but comfort varries according to use, your brother may feel band 5 more comfortable

In wearable they should add glucose monitoring sensor ..now tech is advanced ..this sensor can help many millions who are diabetic to track their health...it is matter of correct algorithms which has to developed because now sensors are loaded in smart watches ..
