T-Mobile wants nothing to do with the Galaxy Fold

If you ask me - folding phones are just a gimmick.
I just hope they will drop down prices of regular devices.

This might be a smart move on their part, but even then if a T-mobile user wants the Fold they can just get the unlocked one. Easy

Anonymous, 26 Jul 2019Actually the s9 series does get regular updates, my brother... moreSamsung has different updates for every carrier on UNLOCKED NON-CARRIER phones. The software you get depends on which SIM is inserted when you perform a software update. The carriers have no control over this. A T-Mobile SIM puts you on a January 2019 release. Some SIM cards leave you on a late 2018 Oreo release. Some got stuck on a bad March 2019 release.
The Samsung forums have people talking about which SIM cards to borrow from a friend to get updates.

The Fold is an example of boring innovation in smartphones.

No wonder TMO doesn't want to sell it. It's a potential disaster waiting to happen. This phone has already folded and the sooner everyone gets it, the better.

Maybe T-Mo is mad that Samsung doesn't update any of their unlocked phones after a T-Mo SIM is put in it. Samsung's idea of customer service is telling customers to buy a new phone. I made a huge mistake when I bought the WiMax Galaxy S2 that burned out its GPS radio every two months and crashed every time it switched to 3G. I made a huge mistake when I bought the S9+ that never gets security updates. There won't be any more mistakes.

The Galaxy fold is definitely a Luxury phone. Not to be sold through carrier discounts. If you want it, get it from Samsung. Other mass production flagships can be made available for everyone else on carrier subsidies. Got to earn your stripes, Tiger.

Well, for a premium device (almost 2k?) T-Mobile made the best decision IMO. I guess they're expecting headaches and a lot of issues if they did adopt the phone into their lineup.

Good... I guess.
Foldables aren't ready yet, and by not offering the option they could be saving themselves a lot trouble due to quality and durability issues arising soon. This protects their reputation, and the un-smart people who fall for the latest craze. And sticks it to Samsung/Huawei/OEMs that you won't be stocking up their poorly designed/built/tested devices that are destined for eWaste.

"we already offer customers a wide range of the latest smartphones."
Yeah, that's just outright lazy and complete BS.

They got bombarded because of the issues and delay, in which case the refund issue is way a bad track to them.
