ZTE Axon 10 Pro's 20x hybrid zoom demoed

26 July 2019
The phone uses all three of its camera at to achieve the magnification.

5x looks nice 10x doesn't looks nice. And 20x is awful. Why didn't they market it as 3x times zoom, because the 20x zoom doesn't impress me at all.

Wow, whose zoomed samples look really garbage. Why did they even bother honestly?

to get even close to that we will need to see big thick heavy phones with their camera just popped out of their back then the possibility of going into that direction will start ,but not before that.

so it means there is 2x optical zoom on telephoto lens and 2x digital. and other published zooms are just result of shooting with different lenses of the phone not actually a zoomed shot. which any phone with 2 or 3 camera has by default.
1x is ultra wide lens, 3x is normal lense, 5x is telephoto lesns and zoom just starts at 4th and 5th photo

Anonymous, 26 Jul 20193x optical zoom. Oppo is 5x optical P30 pro is 5x optical Right. Missed the 3x=1x zoom. I read it as 5x=1x. So the wide angle is 0.33x zoom instead of 0.2x. Thank you for correcting me.

Still I hate it when they manipulate reality like this to show greater numbers than reality.

Instead of wasting the R&D on zooming why not double the effort on improving the resolution of the image quallity so if you want to zoom on something you just have to crop it.

Yes. A lot of them do that to try to put better or equal capabilities that they have in reality.

Oppo did it with the Reno 10x. You can't know how much optical zoom you have. It's is hidden on purpose under under a hybrid zoom with the excuse of enough quality... Enough to no buy it as if i want to take photos with the optical lens at their max zoom, i must have that option available in any camera.

The cameras of this phone is nothing to write home about...poor telephoto and Ultra wide lens overall while the main sensor suffers from no OIS in low lighting

It is dishonest to say " hybrid" zoom, they should show just the optical zoom only, as the digital part is made by cropping, that the user can always do manually

Wow. Not only those shots are of awful quality, but they are also manipulating the numbers. Only true 2x optical zoom with 0.2x wide angle.

                          What's even the point?
