The ROG 2 is specifically built like a tank for gaming and it's not for everyone. But the stock Android option can make this phone for everyone. And comparing to OnePlus 7 Pro, that's not a fair competition. The display is better for HDR content and color. But smoothness, the ROG 2 is on another level. Plus proper front firing stereo speakers, make it the best device for gaming. People will tell gaming phones are a joke. This is just the start and eventually grow as how gaming PCs/laptops did. So instead of criticizing, appreciate the fact that this is the hottest phone right now.

Get the tencent version and install custom or global rom to get rid of all bloatware. lol

While the price tag is cheaper, don't use the Oneplus 7 Pro to compare when OVERALL, the ROG 2 phone is better. OnePlus only beats Asus in terms of software, its updates, and camera.

5000mAh battery isn't something to look down at.
Less bloatware compared to Asus offering.
Arguably better in-house cooling.

it has the BEST processor around an android can get. MASSIVE storage, Headphone jack. Massive battery. HUGE display. Front facing speakers. UDFPS...

no SD card. You'll have to use a computer every time you want to transfer data. Deal breaker for me.

My top 5 of most important aspects in a phone:
5. Display. I'm more into 2K plus but the 120Hz refresh rate definitely makes up for it.
4. Audio. Front-facing stereo speakers ain't dead and neither is that headphone jack. Perfect.
3. Storage. I hate not having a MicroSD card so I have to wait for te global unlocked price to see if the 512GB version is within my reach.
2. Processor and RAM combination. Obviously very good.
1. Battery. That battery is gorgeous. I don't care about weight. Lift weights if it's too heavy. I'll take more components and bigger battery over thinner phone any day of the week. No compromises.
Dang straight, this phone is hot. I hope it will have global bands.

I hope that those whom voted that its hot also means that they are cool with the MSRP price.
If you don't agree with the price, no sd card, no IP68, One Plus display is much better, etc. you just endorsed future gaming phones from Asus to take advantage of consumers.

The processor isn't everything. You can play all the lame mobile games you want on a V20 or a Note4. Plus IP protection plus MIL-STD-810G drop protection plus quality materials plus much more convenient and I could go on.
You are definitely the target audience for gaming phones: those easily manipulated by marketing terms that don't know enough about technology to realize everything you need from a phone can be acheived better by an older, more durable and convenient device
