"Personally, I hope Dish can disrupt the monopolized cable-internet business in the US. It would really be nice to have options outside of one or two providers in a given area and it could give cable companies a reason to treat its customers better."

    Spot on!

So is it ONLY Band 4 or that's the only confirmed one that we know of that Dish is adopting?

Also, the 3G 1xEV-DO will be ported to WCDMA (the 3G standard used by GSM providers). However, several countries planed to shut down 3G service too.
Dish owns a ton of spectrum, including on 700 and 600 MHz, so will be compatible with T-mobile's network with no problem. Because the 7 year roaming agreement imposed by DOJ, very probably they will use also the band 4.

Florida is a horrible spot for Satellite TV but I do wish this new mobile entry the best of luck.

Question is, since we know they're basically going to run CDMA BC1 and BC10 with 1xEV-D0, what LTE bands are they nabbing? Will it just be 71 and the other 5G bands or will they build towers with LTE bands that are not used in the US (like 1, 3, and 5)? I'm really interested.
