Sony Mobile reports decline in sales for a fifth quarter in a row

The forecast for the fiscal year is TVs and smartphones sales will be even lower than previously expected.

Xperia 1 already has much better sales compared to XZ2.
Probably will be the best seller among Xperia this year.
It is selling more than Sony expected.

In Taiwan it was the #12 best seller among all devices from all brands ahead of S10+.
In june Sony became the #3 in Taiwan, overtaking Asus and Oppo.

Sony is the #2 in Japan.

    GAMIRSFM, 30 Jul 2019Sony, all you had to do... is some MARKETING...I dont think thats their main problem. Every other companies spend a lot of money on marketing department, but still sell a cheaper device even the specs is good.

    Sony dont spend money on their marketing, yet still sell a high price device. Imagine their current phone price + marketing budget = a ridiculous higher price device that not suits for the specs. Of course blind fanboys will always agree on everything they do lol.

          came for the haters and bezels, not disappointed. ill buy the next compact xperia 2 flagship if it will be smaller than my s10e and not going to be amoled.

            Yeah, pair a 4K screen with a 3300 mAH battery, be the company behind the iconic "Walkman" series but yet remove the 3.5mm headphone jack, don't partner up with excellent camera divisions WITHIN your own company, overprice your phones just because you can,
            don't advertise the most unique feature for gamers i.e. PS4 remote-play, don't launch a gaming-centric smartphone which ties up nicely with your PlayStation ecosystem, in summary just create a DIVISION between each of your own business verticals and then wonder WHAT WENT WRONG! LOL!

            Course correction for Sony:
            1) Combine all your expertise into your smartphone
            2) Get your camera division to get its act together
            3) Increase battery capacity
            4) Stop putting useless tech into displays. 21:9 is good, but 4k is useless on anything under 25 inch, and I am being generous here. Except for those people with SUPERB eyesight, 4K under 50 inch is intangible. Instead, add a high refresh rate display. Give an option to switch between 2K 60Hz or 1080p 120 Hz on your OLED panel.
            5) Create a PS Vita like hand-held console ecosystem with lots of exclusive gaming titles and detachable controllers like what the ROG phone is doing, possibly in a smaller and lighter package.
            6) Get microLED's to mass-market flagship smartphones asap. They are the best of both worlds LED and LCD and the next leap in display tech (benefits are a google search away).

Bezels are important. It seems only Apple has the most capable Palm/Non-fingerprint rejection software around. Accidental presses everywhere lul.
