LG announces another decline in smartphone sales

Other than the Quad Dac, I don't see another reason why to buy an LG phones considering how poor their batteries and overall quality is plus they bring in Europe the G8s which is not as great as the original G8 and the screen is more inferior plus they seldom update their phones so no surprise that their sales keep going down. Plus, they don't give up on that stupid and horrible notch. I would personally not buy a LG phone. This is my opinion, not bashing anyone here.

LG like Sony or Sony Ericsson made really interesting designs with unique features in physical form. Both companies have lost their way and wont listen so they should both sink in the ocean! We need a Walkman Phone or Cybershot again. LG needs to bring the crystal back or the viewty and 120fps was 10 years ago now they should bring 960 fps like Sony but in 1080p!!!

The only advantage is there k40 under 200 euro phone whit ip rating. Samsung a haw not.

also the fact they aren't in china's market is unfortunate, there is a lot of money made there.

The only thing i do love about LG is the AUDIO. other than that, from my experience using LG G6, battery sucks, poor after sales service, nothing exciting as compared to other brands. Worst software update among all.

LG and sony should price their phones competitively with these chinese brands. And be aggressive with their ads/endorsements.

I don't think the reason for their declining sales is simply just the aggressive pricing from Chinese manufacturers. Apart from LG pricing their phones very high, they have super crap service. Surely they do not care much about their customers, as can be seen in their policies. Samsung does a better job at delighting their customers. Just between LG and Samsung, i would never pick an LG, even if the comparable Samsung model costs more. I feel better assured with a Samsung purchase because i know they care for their customers. Even the Chinese phone makers provide better service than LG. Blaming the lower pricing from Chinese makers is really the lamest excuse they can give.

I believe lg lacks marketing policies like apple,samsung,huawei and it also depends on the companies finances like revenue to drive the marketing policy which companies like lg and sony badly need.

Actualy LG manufacturing very good quality phones. especialy v series and g series phones.
youtube showing LG phones testing with other branded phones. testing result LG is the best phone. advertisment is the main factor. LG not doing that. other phone makers doing too much advertisment and phones not good also.

In addition, the LG G8 has one of the best battery life of any phone on the market at the moment.
Don't forget the 128GB of internal storage + 6GB of RAM, which is standard for a 2019 smartphone, although you do see other phones offering more, the G8/V50 are not slouches. And both the V50 and G8 can be expanded with microSD card.
Camera is among the best, the V50 is the only phone with a night-mode capable of rivaling the one on the Pixel 3 XL or Huawei P30.
LG also has the best audio capability of any 2019 phone. Objectively the best DAC of any phone released this year. In addition, both the V50 and G8 still manage to be IP68 water-resistant, even though both phones have 3.5mm headphone jacks.
At this point, the only thing other brands have over LG is marketing, if LG launched a better marketing campaign, they would be way better off.

Nobody buys LG smartphone, they are too expensive and the hardware is before 5 years. No good battery, no good processor and no good memory not to mention also the bad display.

LG and Sony should price accordingly to their market position. Both companies still make fine phones, but they just aren't compelling offers value-wise.
