yeah, i love downloading videos from youtube. but i use tubemate, its free and support 1080p downloading too. some videos even have 4k.

My phone only streams 720p, so this really isn't important to me. Nice that YouTube is adding this, although they should've just had it in the first place, considering you pay $11.99 a month for it :P

It's basically same thing. Not everyone just download all software, music, movies for free... Some use such services. Just think about it.

Call me st**id but are those ways of downloading or keeping such content that you mention here legal? That service is paid for reason, it's not free content, or? If it's possible to avoid it, that doesn't mean it's alright.
Besides, you can watch it on YouTube as much as you want using proper devices including Android TV as was said below.

So if you like downloading videos from youtube i suggest you use Newpipe because it's open source app and the size is also quite small but personally i use a Videoder.

Just buy 4K android smart tv and watch YouTube as much as you want. No need to download.

But this article is about smart phones, and probably there are not so many options as we have on PC(I am only guessing, because I never download anything to my smart phone).

You can download any resolution videos from YouTube by a number of methods... I'm not gonna state how though. You can google for that.
