Tried a few mediateks in the past, adequate for the job, but system updates were horrible/non-existent.
Add to that the fact that when a company chooses a low-cost cpu, they might also cut costs on everything else, which translates to bad cameras, slow and low storage, or just about anything!
Pretty much the same case with celerons, they're not half bad, but a pc built to cut costs has everything else bad, so celeron gets the blame.
