Many of those who don't like Facebook are using Whatsapp. Trying to tell them that Whatsapp is a Facebook company is not going to make them to love it. In fact some of them might stop using Whatsapp and want to piss in the Facebook spokesperson's mouth.

All of my friends had joined Facebook in 2011 and after 2015 almost 80% had stopped using it. They all had shifted to WhatsApp. In 2019, I had stopped using both the apps and shifted to Twitter and Telegram.

That makes no sense. With all the bad press they got, now they are trying to spread the bad name all over the place? Why? What a strange decision

"to inform Facebook haters across the world that, by the way, WhatsApp and Instagram are also from that company."

                      Indeed. lol

It's like telling haters you can't get away

                          Sh*t , I really didn't want to quit WhatsApp.

The day I see one ad on Whatsapp, its goodbye for me. Will move to Telegram.

I think it's a smart decision on Facebook's part because a large chunk of Instagram users are increasingly Gen Z. They'll eventually get older and migrate to other social media app... namely Facebook. That subtle "from Facebook" will create a sense of familiarity to Gen Z and attract them towards creating a FB account. There's the argument that it'll create more distrust because of their horrible ways of handling privacy, but I highly doubt you'll find a teenager that cares about privacy policies these days. It's similar to how as a child you eat at McDonald's and remember fond memories of the PlayPlace and Happy Meals. Once you get older, you'll subconsciously remember those warm and fuzzy memories and... eat at McDonald's. This analogy might not apply to everyone but you can probably remember at least one place like this, but that's just my take on it :)

I remember when in instagram normal peoples' pictures were the standard and had visibility. When it was new and fresh.
Now it's full of advertisements, all sorts of world travelling flower stompers, extremist vegans, wannabe-artists of all sorts, rich bazterds showing off, etc.. The app is surely stealing ALL information as well, no matter how you personally see it as.

Facebook is complete trash and Zucc&friends aren't even ashamed of themselves after all the datahack/privacy breach/mental gymnastics/fake news/scandals with children circus lately. instagram has gotten progressively worse (or atleast uninteresting, generic). Some people make money showing off their lives/content and others' lives are so boring that they have to feed on that content so much.
WhatsApp is still great as an app like it was originally, however, as they're all owned by the same (((people))), that's a no-no overall.

Facebook is facing a lot of bad press lately (and they deserve it). How about sharing this bad press? Yes sharing this bad press will surely dilute it. Wise decision. But share it to who? Hm... nobody seems to want to bear the prestigious "Facebook" name on their services. What a shame. Ah, Facebook owns other services that do not bear the coveted brand name. Perfect! Problem diluted.

What do you mean, bad reputation doesn't get diluted like this?
