Samsung teases new Exynos chipset coming on August 7 to power the Galaxy Note10

03 August 2019
The phone has already been benchmarked with an Exynos 9825, so that's what this clearly is.

However Samsung has No Balls when it comes to offering a developer mode/unlock bootloader like that of Google Pixel/OnePlus (Custom Recovery, Driver, Kernel, ROM, MODs).

Samsung has Small Balls when it comes to resisting the bad trends of notches, punch holes, and aspect ratio. They're mostly swimming with the current.

And LG has More Balls when it comes to design, by making a flat front that can be properly protected with Tempered Glass (unlike fragile curved edges), and having rear cameras protected underneath the rear panel: so that there's no Camera Hump.

And I would say other OEMs have had Bigger Balls when it came to offering a proper audio experience with Front-firing stereo loudspeakers and stronger QuadDAC support.

....So while Samsung's great, they aren't perfect, and here's 4 major reasons why.

So Note 10 is an all around downgrade vs S10 and not even in the flagship class unlike iPhone XI, Mate 30 Pro, ROG II and Pixel 4

Snapdragon 855 is more powerful than exynos 9820 especially the GPU, for example PUBG run at 49fps on exynos 9820 and 59fps on snapdragon 855

I don't have high expectations on exynos 9825

If samsung really want, they will even beat apple soc, but they are so shy about exynos developpement. I bet it is the partnership with qualcomm. They are forced to be on par with snapdragon to avoid power gap but After tweaks to reach parity exynos finally is worse. Its like a super hero forced to abandon super powers to live with humans.

exynos 982x is a75 based. no way it can come closer to a76 based snapdragon 855

Samsung has held back on its advanced EUV lithography process this time also. I am very surprised by this development, and I think Samsung has been waiting a little too long than necessary to put its best foot forward when it comes to its own in-house chipsets.
Since SD820, I feel that Qualcomm has beaten Samsung to the punch consistently.
I also remember how much better Exynos 7420 was compared to SD 810, and I am sure that Samsung, if it focused more, can produce similar or better flagship chipset than Qualcomm. Until then, I will stay away from them.

That explains why US will also be getting the Exynos version this time around. US users would feel cheated if they got left out on Samsung's latest & greatest SoC.

I am pretty confident this new SoC would be better overall than the SD855. Wait and watch.

Samsung had balls bringing out the Note series with big displays and a stylus which Apple and Huawei are now slowly copying.

Samsung had balls removing the SD card slot but then bringing it back and still using it to this day unlike Apple, Google Pixel's and even Huawei's stupid format.

Samsung had balls to go 1440p and never go back.

Samsung had balls to keep 3.5mm audio jack to this day and im hoping next year they bring it back because unlike other OEM's Samsung listens.

They should improve their CPU greatly as well and updating schedule.
If Q will be released all aplicable devices should get it immediately.
This should stands for every device and every brand not only samsung.

And about the CPU even mediatek catching up the exynos.
They have money and guts to remove jack and other things which most people call a necessary but they have no balls to make a better chips than Qualcomm so not only motorola but many other companies would and should use it.

I don't know why Samsung doesn’t use Exynos in their tabs. Could improve the tab performance a lot, specifically, for videos. SD still makes a video lag if 1080p HEVC 10 bit is used. There is no lag observed in Apple's chip after A9 (I tested myself in iPhone X). The same goes well using Intel's 7th gen CPU or above.

The Exynos 9820 was an enhanced architecture of the 9810, and on a more mature 10nm lithography. So its no wonder it is actually only as efficient and fast as the QSD 845.

This Exynos 9825 better have an actual improvement in the architecture, and be made on a true-7nm node. That way, it could perhaps be as fast as the Kirin 980 and the QSD 855/Plus, or maybe even faster.

People have been waiting patiently since (early 2017) the launch of the Samsung S8+ for a proper upgrade, and some even earlier with the phenomenal S7/Edge variants. The Note10 has been the hope, that perhaps it would come with a proper improvement, and a way to utilise the Exynos-variant to unlock the bootloader to get root access, and extend the lifetime of the device with Custom Recovery, Kernel, ROM, and MODs, especially for a No-Compromise (everything and the kitchen sink) type of device for power-users and enthusiasts. Hopefully they've been bluffing us with the Headphone Jack rumours!!
