The quad-core beast will obviously have a pretty face to go along with all the muscle under the hood.

A Quad-core phone is really an impressive one compared to other phones with the lower cores. But wait, is it just the processor of the phone we are basing with to be impressed? Improving the endurance of the battery of the phone with some its the considerable features will surely get the hype of the large amount of people. There is nothing wrong to climb up to the next level as long as you are now ready for it.

This looks promising to me, it was only a matter of time before quad core came into the equation. I will be intrested to see how they get around the problem of over heating, I'm running the GS2 at the moment and that got pretty hot after a bit of use even before I overclocked it.

Phones should have a 2nd processor that operates when needed and shut off when it isn't needed. They should also have battery options like on laptops where you get to choose if you want performance or to conserve battery.

a quad core means that it use more proccersers if its needed so its uses les power so battery should go on longer like 20%

i agree tht netbooks and phones use different architectures still i feel phones are overtaking.

eg:- my asus 1001p cant handle 720p video (not smooth) but my old nokia n8 plays it without a glitch also works fine on tv via hdmi.

the main reason for the above is tht nowadays modern phones are equipped with more powerful gfx thn the intel's crappy gma series :P

if there's anything i like more than a dual core processor, its a quad core processor.

Just about any smartphone can do this already. Though Motorola's phones with webtop (and HDMI-docks very often included) clearly have an edge here.

"or plug it into a desktop and monitor and it becomes your desktop pc"
Any Motorola smartphone that supports webtop can do this with Lapdock (Atrix, Atrix 2, RAZR XT910/912, RAZR MAXX DROID 4, Bionic, Electrify and Photon)

"or plug it into a tablet and it becomes your personal pc"
Asus is still working on this one, should be available this year.

IMO they should settle on dual cores and maximize its capabilites because mobile companies can't even pull off battery upgrades. It's the same 1500 mAh battery even on dual cores (which was already did on single ones). Battery life is a main problem right now. More crappy phones that lasts hours are out.

Lols! how about improving the battery life?? XD even though its quad core, it doesn't mean that it is faster than your netbook, XD cellphone's processor are different from netbooks laptops processor, as cellphones processor are mobile type, cpu's architecture clocl rates are different so even though it is a quad core 2xxxghz your netbook or laptops procie are still faster even though it is single core 1xxxghz for cellphones, IMPROVE BATTERY LIFE!!

every other manufacturer have surpassed them.

The mobile phone is becoming extinct. It being replaced by smartphones with permanent internet conectivity and soon internet based calling will replace the old gsm networks.

An as technology progresses , you can put more power into smaller devices , and why wouldnt you? wouldnt you like to be able to use your phone as your desktop pc?

Imagine 3-4 years from now every1 having a smartdevice wich you plug into a screen and it becomes your smart tv or plug it into a desktop and monitor and it becomes your desktop pc , or plug it into a tablet and it becomes your personal pc. With hardware twice as good as the most powerfull pc setup today.

So why would they limit to dual cores when there is so much more they can do
