Shadocx, 09 Aug 2019Well, Kirin and Snapdragon never come out at the same time so th... moreHaha you can not read what I've wrote. I said if we compare the SoC year by year especially from January to Desember mobile phones. The wrong timing is Snapdragon release.

Just look at Note 10 series (the highest Samsung flagship) have the same Snapdragon SoC from S10 series. Who will buy Note 10 instead of S10+? Only few people using the pen.

Just look of Huawei P series n Mate series. They always seperated by different SoC. So, Mate series will always be better than P series on every year. Pls put on attention.. ON EVERY YEAR!

That's why when Mate series launch, people will always comparing to latest iPhone n latest Note because they are on the same year launch. Only seperated by 1-2 months (Note is Augus, iPhone is Sept, Mate is Oct). That's why Qualcomm create SD855+ in order to make the gap closer and Samsung didn't using that latest SoC from Qualcomm. So, in just 1-2 months, Note 10 speed will feel quite behind next iPhone and next Mate.

Anonymous, 10 Aug 2019u sound stupid, they been capable and ahead of even the switch, ... moreSure current chips can be better than Switch but if they make a gaming oriented chip for gaming oriented phones with advance cooling which will be designed to run console ports it will interest developers to actually port games and even speed up emulator development and those chips will be faster which will produce more heat and would require advance cooling to control that heat that only gaming phones have so we would see more differenciation between gaming and non gaming phones just like PC

Carol, 09 Aug 2019Take a look again, you seem to have an eye problem.look at what it loses against apple in single core which is best for gaming and even in multi core it is only like 300points higher, and that is against apples a12 last years chip, the upcoming iphone is about the have the a13 that insiders are saying will ones again set itself a whole year apart from the competition with how powerful it is...with that said tho i will say while all this is great we still dont have devs that care to make console games for phones because of their size battery and heat suffers, but imagine these specs in a switch sized shell and all man it basically would be a ps4 on the go and then some esp performance wise unlike switch

LG Superfan, 09 Aug 2019Gaming SoC?u sound stupid, they been capable and ahead of even the switch, up to others to make games for it, but they dont want to esp because battery heat and such, same if switch was the size and thin as phones they wouldn't want it to heat and lose battery by porting console games, but if u got a device like rog 2 that brings attachable controllers and battery add ons cooling housing and again if devs actually would care to port/make console games they would easily run whatever switch is for example and then some/both look and perform much better with the chips right now/chips from last years even

If we count the cycle start from every year till end of the year, the Snapdragon will left behind.

See for example the flagship every year vs flagship every year. This year, Galaxy Note 10 series will be beaten by A13 iPhone XI and Kirin 985/990. Their launch are only seperated 1-2 months. Note (August), iPhone (Sept), Mate (Oct/Nov).

Snapdragon 865 and maybe 865+ are next year SoC. Just like A14 and next Kirin 1000 series. As Huawei CEO said that what the difference between P series n Mate series is Mate series will get the latest SoC. So Mate series is alway faster than P series. It's not like Samsung while Note SoC is the same as S10 series. Some people will think to buy S10+ (better screen resolution, larger screen, and cheaper) because only few people using pen.

Only Apple's processor can beat Snapdragon. In android world Snapdragon is unbeatable. Kirin and Exynos are good too. But stay away from MediaTek.

Samsung Foundry has been selected as the manufacturing partner for the Snapdragon 865, using the new 7nm EUV-based fabrication process for better thermal performance and efficiency. Mass production is reportedly going to commence in February 2020. For reference, the Snapdragon 855 was manufactured by TSMC.
