Good timing for Qualcomm to unveil the processor in winter because usually it's damn processor usually sucks in heat dissipation.

Pity it’s just a reference device, let’s see how it performs after an OEM has slapped their skin on it. Will also be interesting to see how OnePlus, Asus and Google take full advantage of the SoCs capabilities.

Hello Life, 09 Aug 2019I switched from oneplus 3 to s8 plus.. Yes oneplus is less ... moreThat's true but I bet the OnePlus 3 is just as fast or even faster than your S8+ even though the former uses a quad-core SoC. Thanks to the hardware and OxygenOS it should be just as fast as an aging iPhone. All smartphones whether it's an Android or iOS smartphone will slow down after several years because of app and OS updates.

The scores of popular SoCs, for context:
              SD 855+: 3623/11367
              SD 855: 3413/10256
              SD 730: 2410/7193

Moanie, 09 Aug 2019Does anyone think this could be the 8cx computing platform? It is probably, it says msmnile, I doubt that's another Snapdragon other than SD855/855+ or 8cx.

If so, did they run any better or worse than your Samsung smartphone?

Considering they bring 1-2 Flagship Chipsets every year - I'm sure they could just release the SD900 already. Is qualcomm holding it back to make more money every year or is research really moving in yearly steps? (same works for intel) - if so, we could be much further right now.

We are soon 2020 and some people still think geekbench or others benchmarks reflect real life performance. It’s said and mentioned everywhere, cross-platform comparison is illogic. When you are on ios devices, geekbench or antutu comparison are only on ios devices the same with android. You won’t see ios device on android top chart or on windows pc or mac os and vis versa. So its simple: ios vs ios, android vs android, pc vs pc, mac vs mac no cross comparison

I'm looking forward to using my maxed out OnePlus 6T for many years to come because of the great hardware and fast and reliable software updates, I think it'll get Android R too and maybe even the Android OS that will come after R.

The SD801 still performs well but after so many years the battery life is very poor and unbearable. I'm thinking about replacing the battery because I still use it and it's the first smartphone that I really fell in love with, everything from the unique hardware design, flagship SoC, CyanogenMod/Cyanogen OS software, and of course the price.
