I remember how skeptical people were with the looks and design of the phone. " No it cant be done", "Who's stupid to buy such a huge phone" "Way too big for a phone". But how things have changed and spectacularly. I too was not a fan at the start, but i am on back to back note phone - Note 3 and now Note 8.
          Brilliant move by Samsung

Heck, even the bottom navigation bar for apps, especially browsers, was viewed as dumb by these phablet users.

Sad to see people who are disgusted by the presence of buttons, bezels and ports are the ones who are being catered to by these companies.

I actually hate the still ongoing trend of phones that no hand can ever wield. I use a 6,4" all screen phone right now (no bezels, punchholes or notches anywhere) and it sucks. Im sorry to say this, but all flagships right now are a no-buy for alot of people I personally know. It's not the price, they can easily afford any iphone or samsung, they just don't want any phone to be larger than 4,5-5". I know the mobilephone market is still going strong, but why miss out on ~30% of potential customers by offering 5" with crapspecs only, barely no midrangers, and tons of flagships all above 5,5"...oh well. Im just a stupid customer with stupid friends, who sit on stupid money that no one wants ;) Greetings.

Samsung did nail the stylus and every handset.

My note 2 n7105 had to be fav not only by support from samsung but the xda community too. Sold it to pave thw way for my note 8..... For aome reqson i like old school handsets with soul to em unlike these days which rarely differ in speca.

Anyone find it weird that the original Note was model N7000, note the "N7" and the later successor, the Note7 was a disaster flop?

Also, if the number 6 is deemed bad, how come there was a S6 but no Note6?

                      Anyone see the connection?

There's no foolproof way to detect it.

When it dies, it just dies.

If you want to walk down memory lane, have a look at The List of Favourites I made:
                                  https://www.gsmarena.com/user.php3?idUser=815883

But you need to scroll to the bottom, and read it from bottom to top.
The list goes from Symbian to Maemo, Windows Mobile to Windows Phone, Blackberry to QNX, Palm phones, and iPhones.
After that it's all Android phones in categories of: Compact, Weird, Qwerty phones, Flagships, and lastly Large Phones.

PS: I forgot to add in the Nexus 6P and Note 6, and I seem to have mixed up the two versions of Android/Windows Phone of the Idol 4s, doh!

I remember my original note back in 2013, having upgraded from the original Tab, i find it quite useful as a student back then, i take many notes with it, many scribbles, many sketch, it serve me well for a five grueling years before i have much money to preorder the Note 8, what a leap.

There are several deal breakers on the Note 10, the pen is definitely not one of them. The longer you own a Note, the more you use the pen without even thinking on it.
