Specs are important too. A40 looks to be in a range or SD660 so it's ok enough for the price.
A20e is a bit expensive for no AMOLED screen and only 720p resolution plus fps on the back and not under display plus the CPU is around SD625-630 range. A40 is best for 200 euro range phone with decent hardware and good enough features for compact phone.

I really don't understand how people can even accept to use such crappy devices like samesung, they might look ok on the outside but the system it self is so garbage one can call it teleshoping.

Walter C. Dornez, 12 Aug 2019Man, I hope they start making their A series even better.They won't. The A series is like the C segment of cars. Are there better ones? Sure. But they cost much more. While you gain not so much. For average people, C segment and A series is all they need. They will do the job without much fuss, but you won't have to pay an arm and a leg. Common sense, i would say.

At certain conditions i was able to get above average mobile photography onpar or sometimes even better than my friends iphone 7.
The problem is in the camera software.
Samsung hasn't yet tuned the A50 CAMERA Software processing as they've done for the S10 SERIES.

Dornez, 12 Aug 2019Man, I hope they start making their A series even better.Those are mid-rangers and Samsung will not give them hardware from the flagships aside the SoC in the most expensive. I only see them adding better cameras to the more expensive ones. As the A70-90 already have a premium price in the mid-range... there is no margin between them and the S10e. And when they'll improve the sensors then they'll remove the flagship software (steady shot and/or the best nightmode) in the next A premium models to not let them take as good photos as their flagships. So for better hardware the S10e is what they offer.
They did a big mistake with the crap cameras in them. And then tried to solve it with software and adding in the more expensive models the nightmode and steadyshot. But without a lot sucess due to the sensors and lens used. The sales of the more expensive ones show it. If the A50 with its mediocre cameras below its competitors in that price range sell well, that show them that they can sell that cheap plastic phones with low end cameras with high profit margin in that segment. And that people an that price range don't care a lot about cameras and more about the price and the brand in the phone... Of course, the new underdisplay fingerprint sensor helped a lot as something new in that price and a the new design cloned from the chinese phones. The A50 sucessor will not arrive until february 2020 less if Samsung change anual schedule.

So R&D where are you now. dont you see that Samsung A40 selling good in EU as a second place so there is a need for smaller phones.
And good to see Xiaomi on 4th place too. Soon will take over apple and maybe even Huawei.
the one who whine about Xiaomi quality then it's on par with every other brand in Europe that ask 2-3 times the price.
