Samsung Galaxy Note10+ 5G tops DxO charts for both main camera and selfies

I'm saying that the COMBINATION of vertically aligned triple cameras placed on the upper left corner + all the miscellaneous sensors right besides the cameras, the centred selfie camera and shimmering back panel has been borrowed from P30 Pro. And it's not like this was Samsung's signature design or anything, their flagships never looked this similar to those from others. Usually S series and Note series released in the same year look largely the same, but this time they are like they are made by completely separate companies.

    I'm talking about the REPOSITION of the front camera. They had it it on the upper right side of the display but then suddenly they decided it to move it to the centre, just like they moved the back cameras from the centre of the device to the upper left corner, AT THIS TIMING.
    As for the different shape of the camera module, I should've said different shape of the camera bump instead. 1 pill-shaped and 1 circular bump to 1 huge pill shaped camera bump, and as you can see all the other sensors such as laser emitter were moved to the right hand side of the triple camera modules and placed vertically, which Samsung clearly took a cue from when designing Note 10.

    Haha, no. I'm simply calling out a person who's refusing to admit that a grapefruit looks like a mandarine but somehow claiming that it looks strikingly similar to an apple. We wouldn't have had this stupid discussion if you could've just admitted that Note 10's design has been influenced by P30 Pro. I obviously won't get mad at you or at Samsung about it, since that's what every company does nowadays. It's you who is being obsessed with originality, and you have been thinking that only Huawei copies designs from rivals. But now you're facing the fact that that is no longer true, so you're defending Samsung at all cost even if it clearly doesn't sound right.

    Now please let me excuse myself because I don't want to waste my whole weekend on this pointless discussion, which I would definitely have to do at this rate. I know it's still Friday but I hope you'll have a nice weekend.

A friend of mine bought his Xperia 10 Plus from Hong Kong to be used in Malaysia, and it never misses a beat.

        So the $1400 phone scores a single point higher than the $800 phone. Oof.

Huawei copied Apple in the first place, Apple's was always there, also many other Samsung devices including Galaxy Fold has the camera there. If you push it then Samsung copied Apple after Huawei did, not that they copied Huawei.
            So what about front camera in the center of the display? You call punch hole a copy of waterdrop? In that case I could say every single device with the notch copied Apple, especially so many of the Huaweis, couldn't I??
            "The change in shape of the top & bottom part of the metal frame”,yeah right, if Huawei claims right to a minor detail like that then clearly all devices with a curved screen copied Samsung.
            There is no "introduction of a new shimmering color option" because Samsung already had S10 5G and even A series models with "shimmering colors", not to mention the glass back of Samsung's S6 series already had a subtle color change effect, only they somehow backtracked on that from S7-S9! So yes, nothing to do with the existence of P30 Pro especially considering how Honor stole the back from Samsung in the first place!

And different shape of main camera module? Unless the modules themselves were entirely untouched who would reuse that design? S10 5G's camera module doesn't even look entirely like S10+'s, so they don't look like each other? Same case for the bottom bezel, S9's bottom bezel is thinner than S8's, wow they don't look anything like each other! NOT!
            For somebody who claims not to care, you really come up with a lot of lousy double-standard excuses.

Well Huawei claimed "heritage" for dual camera in the first place when they only had 3 dual camera models, which was clearly not theirs to claim--there was more than one model before them, so it's only fair.

                In Photography, Samsung fell behind. Details, zoom range, adjustable aperture even when zooming, low lights, etc.

                Like u said, to each its own. So no, Samsung is not the best either. No phone is.

I did say I don't mind companies copying each others design, but that doesn't mean people can just go ahead and claim originality for products which clearly have been inspired by others. I think it's time for all of us to accept nowadays most phone companies copy each other and Samsung is no longer the exception.
                        If you don't like Samsung to be compared with Huawei, fine. You can also say that Note 10 is looking very similar to Xperia XZ Premium's design but with significantly narrower bezels. Or mix of Huawei and Sony, or whatever - as I told you earlier *I* don't really care who's copying who, but you clearly do.

                          Punisher, 14 Aug 2019Bla bla bla. Not a fan of any kind but night mode alone on ... moreWell P30 Pro isn't beaten on night mode, but it's video is serioulsy not impressive. It is actually extremley underwhelming.
                          So that plays a role too, Note10 beat P30 Pro at overall rating, it'd not be smart to say that Note10 is better in all categories because it's certainly not, but it does hold the advantage on enough areas to get higher score.
                          Some might say "But I'm never recording videos" and others will say "But I'm never taking photos at night" - so, each to their own I guess.

                              Bla bla bla. Not a fan of any kind but night mode alone on p30 pro is not been beaten. There is no "review" by any site blog or what ever. Just compare picture with almost no light what so ever and you have your you own logic to go by. Doesnt matter what site is saying what. When some other brand come to that hight then we will talk about top of the list. I can only assume what p40 pro will bring to the table. As soon some brand is figuring out night mode in total darkness with no light at all that will be hard to beat at any time. Im not talking about night sight but night mode with color reproduction. And as i remember there is some experiments going on in the world with that techology

                                  [deleted post]They aren't just trying to catch up with Huawei's camera my friend.

                                  They just proved that they are able to surpass them - because they just DID surpass them.
                                  Google Pixel1/2/3 all had unmatched camera in their time, now even S10 series gave Huawei serious run for their money because even S10e blows P30 Pro out of the water on video department, now the Note10...

                                  Note10+ currently has:
                                  Fastest download speeds
                                  Best display
                                  Best camera (photo and video)
                                  Fastest UFS
                                  One of the best processors out there...

                                  Samsung really did smash it with this one, you can't argue that all of this won't be hard to beat.

                                    Sorry, I NEVER trust DxoMark rating anymore! Just give any big numbers, I still wouldn't buy in.

                                        If Note+ 5G version gets DXO high marks means what about Note 10 and Note 10+. All three are the same camera module like Note 10+ and Note 10+5G, Then why this partiality between these two devices.... Will Samsung given explanation for this????
