I've been using 2 devices GS185 in past 9 months. Both had one and same display problem - yellow spots on the screen after couple of months operation. This phone was called Made in Germany. Good thing was the battery capacity 4000mA was enough to browse the net all day and even more. I'm disappointed of that brand. Hopefully GX290 has better display as it is ISP.

Ugh! MediaTek P23, 720p, GG3, 32GB, $334+, what were they thinking?! I love big batteries and all but I'm not going to overlook the rest of the smartphone just because it has an impressive 6200mAh battery.

I don't get this. If it was a 1080p AMOLED panel it would have gotten at least a thumbs up from you. A 1080p AMOLED because of the non-RGB matrix layout of its pixels has LESS active pixels than a 1080p LCD.

I remember that brand. My uncle gave us a Gigaset, he bought it at Mediamarkt, a cordless phone for my house, it had interferences, the transmission quality between the base and the phone was very poor, with noise, it was useless. It ended up in the trash and we bought a Panasonic that works great at a good price too.

It's almost an insult justify that crap specifications at its price only because its a rugged phone. You can buy a brick of rubber, seal your phone and make it rugged very cheaply.

Blackview BV9600 under 300 euro and have Helio P70 with AMOLED screen and 5580mAh battery. Yeah dont have the Android One but i bet you can do a lot more with that on the field then you can do with this Gigaset with Helio P23

Something newer and more powerful then P23 from 90 euro phone. And on the field people want still more powerful phones just to make there work. This P23 will lag a lot and be slow. And GPS wont be good on it either. You can get rugged phones for lower price that will have more performance but yeah wont have Android one on them. This phone is basically no different then if it would have Android Go on it as useless hardware it has

Procesor must be at least helio p35.Also mil std 810g must be there. Gorila glass 3 is better for scratch but not for drop. All this can explain this price,for now this is expensive useless smartphone.

If your obsessed with high specs and being rugged
Then get yourself the AGM brand like the X3 turbo
You want midrange soc then buy yourself a CAT brand like the s48c

I am a field worker so I need rugged phones like this with rugged build quality and a good day or two of battery life. I'm happy with the performance as long as the basics functions are working which I think is more than enough for this phone. I don't game on my phone as I don't get enough time off work so I don't need a gaming oriented performance. Also it comes with stock Android which I prefer compared to custom layouts. Thankfully there exists phones like this for people like me.

Do you think people who worked on field need powerful chipset like snapdragon 855? They are running essential functions (such as calling, sms) and running critical apps (like gps, maps) not gaming which no need for high performance chipset, plus those high power soc are power hungry and these people need long battery endurance
