Weekly poll: What cameras do you use the most on your phone?

Just as I thought. It is with dSLR photography as it is with phones. The most useful focal length for social activities (people and events photography) is the regular wide angle, followed by ultrawide angle and lastly, telephoto.
The only people who use more telephoto (especially really long ones), than ultrawides are paparazzi and people who are more into safari, birding, astro, moon, arena/stadium and other non-social oriented photography which, as you can surmise, is really not very common type of photography to the Facebook generation.
Between an ultrawide and a telephoto, I'll take an ultrawide EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Better just buy and carry a 20x telephoto phone lens attachment, which by the way, takes vastly better moon shots than any built in telephoto lens on a smartphone.

Anonymous, 18 Aug 2019So you think having a zoom is creepy? Are you a taco bell end? Well, claiming to *only* take photos with zoom reveals that you are farther away from the subjects than normal. For obvious reasons, this is is more usual in creeps than in regular photos.

LG Superfan, 18 Aug 2019Ofcourse the main and only camera on my phone but aside fro... moreIn my opinion the sweep panorama photography can capture wider landscape scenery without any image distortion. Most of the wide lens can capture distortion image, we rarely found out on landscape but indoors, ultrawide we can notice more distortion, but for some photography need some of the distortion to enhance the final visual results.

I rather go for wide or ultrawide then zoom in. Since i like to take photo of my friend, family and place. Then i dont have to step back to take the whole scene.

Ultra wide is really useful.
2x telephoto is useless.
10x optical should be standard for telephoto lens in 2020.

Popy, 18 Aug 2019All those people who selected an ultra wide there is a port... moreYeah, but who really wants to carry around a GoPro just for the sake of having an ultrawide camera? Why not just use the one on your phone? (if you have it) And it's not like they're just on premium phones, even budget phones such as Galaxy A and other brands like Huawei and Xiaomi have ultrawides at pretty low prices these days.

Hmm, 18 Aug 2019i use my phone rear camera mostly. I dont do selfies.I dont even think i can use the second lens as alone to take pictures.
And well no phones out there that have more then one cameras on the phone.
The amount of lenses one camera have is different story.

All those people who selected an ultra wide there is a portable action ultra wide camera called GoPro go buy them don't try to cram it in my phone not as it useless but it is added value as same as there is for a telephoto because there is no telephoto camera at a size of a gopro

[deleted post]So pointing out a fact means that the person is sad?
Since the phone's AI is so great, why can't it do 50x zoom on people's faces?
Faking a photo of the moon doesn't need gigabytes of data, just a simple program to add details from a perfectly captured photo and shade it according to the current phase.

Ofcourse the main and only camera on my phone but aside from it I would prefer ultrawide because I take alot of landscape pictures for that an ultrawife is preferred
For me best combination is great main camera with good wide angle which give usable shots in night and a 3x telephoto mainly for portraits

I don't know why would anyone prefer Ultrawide lens. Depth of field has always been too far in mobile cams. And there are so many times where people miss telephoto lenses, many cant even visualize that.

P30 Pro
Regular - checked
Ultra Wide - checked
Telephoto - 5x optical (best), 10x hybrid (left others to dust) - checked
Its got the best versatility.
Even the cheaper vanilla P30 offer 3x optical, 5x hybrid. That alone left others eating smokes. 2x optical is so 2 years behind.
When Galaxy S11 implement 5x optical next year, for sure Sammy boys suddenly praise it.
