Nice that they are adding this for older pohones but feature like should be included for all new phones from day one not by update "sometime" in the future. For us who are sensitive to PWM this is an essential feature which makes or brakes the phone. I bought Xiaomi Mi 9T and there the DC dimming is nowhere to be found and it's not clear if it will be released in future update or when it will happen. Furthermore the screen slightly flickers even on max brightness (I also tried one plus 7 pro with dc dimming enabled and it still wasn't good enough). It's a pity I can use LG OLED TV without problems but when it comes to smartphones even those that have DC dimming are flickering (compared to oled TVs which are completely flicker free) I wish phones could get as good as oled tvs in this regard and that it would become mainstream. I wonder when i.e. samsung at least acknowledges there is a problem or if at least chinese manufacturers will move to hardware dc dimming any time soon. Or if manufacturers could at least produce some great PWM free IPS phone with QHD resolution in 2019/2020 (as it seems that qhd resolution is now reserved only for some flagpships which are exclusively oled)

"The frequency of the pulses is very high" are you kidding? Is that a tech resource? 60-80 hz is not high frequency at all. OLED is a quite compromise tech.

People should start using their smartphones less or switch to an old phone with no WiFi so the phone won't be too addictive and it would benefit their health. I'm switching to a Nokia 6288 after a little over 5 years with a smartphone.

I see quite some display options, but nothing I could easily recognize as "DC dimming".

Keep up the good work Huawei (y)
