AnonD-794992, 16 Aug 2019I guess you need only the 5g modem, but you need the phone ... moreI have a Huawei mobile 4G router ... brilliant & compact device, excellent for roaming. Cost me $25 from my telco provider. I would definitely buy their mobile 5G router if they available for similar price.
However, I would never buy another Huawei phone - the length of their software updates are terrible.

There are some who are on a delayed cycle so purchasing a 4G phone now is maybe their second 4G handset
Put simply 4G handsets cannot be upgraded to 5G either by software or hardware.
There are some who are aware of the above and instead of buying a 4G handset, they have decided to be 5G ready now as simply again, even now the 5G internet speed dwarfs that if 4G, networks are not going to increase their existing 4G internet speed
Flagship phone (4G) have just incorporated the 5G modem
The clever people do not have to upgrade their 5G phones until substantial specs improvements are made

Apple has always had 2020 as the launch date for their 5G iPhones, the 2019 iPhone as you can see is minimally tweaked over the 2018 iphone
The 2019 iPhone purchase may not be a problem if only say a second 4G iPhone
The problem is Apple are trying to sell a 4G iPhone in a 5G world, the there are many iPhone user that would have preferred a 5G iPhone now, do they wait another year?
Also contracts now mean that 5G iPhone become an option in 2021
Japan 2020 Olympic Games will utilise 5G extensively
These may be the initial 5G handset , internet speed and coverage will increase
In 2021 these handsets will be mid high to high-end
Apple will not go broke, the 2019 iPhone could take a sales hit due to some opting for sn Android 5G phone, or others waiting for 4G
The whole 5G handset is Flagship 4G phones with a 5G modem, as there is no need to improve on the specs now
Apple were the first to do this but theirs was financial
The iPhone 6 (4.7 inch display) is the iPhone 5 (4.0 inch display)
Those people who took out a two year contract for the iPhone 5, and upgraded to the iPhone 6 have in fact gotten the same phone iPhone 5 it added the non phone related Apple pay, don't take my word for it do a comparison

Big population. No surprises there. Surprising thing would be they only make less than a million unit of those phones for a country with more than a billion people. So sad.

1. headphone jack
2. Stereo speakers
3. 5000mah battery
Hope mate 30 X retain these features.
