The tests aren't what's questionable it's the catalogue of displays that they've tested it's not varied enough and because of that it's not as credible as it could be
Imagine just these same Samsung displays getting tested over and over where are the ones from sharps best display line??

HDR+ is recommended just for still objects.
Any motion will introduce ghosting.
You will also lose access to features Google does not have on Pixel.

Get a Gcam compatible with your phone, find a stack setting you like that doesn't crash (I use the maximum 24 exposure stack w/o ZSL), enable DNG output, and process your files with LR (most functions are free for the mobile version). I find aside from merge artifacts under certain lighting (mine are concentric tinted rings prone under low light or some cases of daylight w/ extreme DR) the files completely meet my needs. They're generally sharp enough as long as your lens is sharp and totally clean and stand very well to sharpening and adding texture w/o the fake halo, and DR is around MFT base ISO grade. You can dial the default chroma NR of...20 or was it 25, to zero because daylight merges are entirely noise free unlike single shot DNG on default camera while low light merges (of over ~ISO1000 on my phone) are sub-par anyway no matter how you handle them(unless the latest Gcam now has night mode which I'm not aware of, nor do new builds support my phone).

Again, no reason to upgrade from mate 20pro. Samsung, wake up and step up, not sideways! Bring out more before huawei does it again.

Samsung, you have learned fron Apple on how to cheat your customers. Expensive phone, with no headphones adaptor and pay more for a faster charger. Shame on you, overpriced technology. Time to leave the Samsung ship, and move to a cheaper alternative.

htt... moreYep, for skin texture indoor/low light, Xperia 1 is really good, I like the feel of the photos. The only problem is the really poor dynamic range.
But now, people use "beautyficator" effect to smooth the skin and looks like aliens, so the texture is not really important, but HDR is. So Samsung is pretty good when it comes to offer a camera suited for the mass.
Regarding Huawei, the mate 10 pro was awful due to the over smoothness + sharpening. a shame since the 9 serie was not bad, P30Pro is good from what I experienced, so maybe Huawei is now right on track (if only they would stop this curved edge screen madness).

In my opinion, the best takes on details for a smartphone today are Xperia 1. Their new RAW noise reduction work wonders. But sadly got inconsistency on different aspects.
