What is it with rounded camera tumors now? Circle inside a aquare phone? Why does anyone think this is a good Idea?
Also, at the price of OnePlus flagships now you can get Samsung Galaxy S series phones, which have IP68 rating, better camera, more features and are overall beter phones...

Evilmaddoc, 23 Aug 2019Well "YOU" as you pointed out that it has worse camera than... moreAt the same price the S10/S10+ is a better phone. Let you due its certification to use it where OP 7 Pro can't. For example playing in the swimming pool at summer or beach, under the rain, etc. It has audio jack for more flexibility and audio quality. It has aperture variable on its main camera giving you better results depending on the conditions and a better night mode and low light photos where the OP 7 Pro flaws. Its steady shot take better captured images while recording video.
Talking about video the S10/S10+ has a lot more capabilities, a lot better slow motion until 960fps, bigger resolution in its selfie cameras for videocall, the S10+ allow double videocall due to its dual selfie cameras.
Then you can add the extras, like the mentioned audio jack that let you charge the phone while playing, better wired audio, etc. The expandable memory with microSD card, better earbuds in the box, etc. And Fast Qi/PMA wireless charging 15W plus Power bank/Reverse wireless charging 9W. All extra features that the OnePlus 7 Pro lacks at the same price... so for me an overpriced phone.
The OP 7 of course with its ridiculous single camera at that price because the secondary one is a 5MP sensor is discarded from the beginning, only the OP 7 Pro can be compared and lose.

Zendroid, 23 Aug 2019Who cares about the Oneplus "camera"? Is it flat quality sc... moreWell "YOU" as you pointed out that it has worse camera than SGS10. Besides, s10/10+ camera is not "better" than OP7. They are comparable in quality (dependent on the setting of the scene). Well and about the rating, as videos show, the OP7 is quite water durable,so why rant about rating (ofc it makes smb sleep tighter with rating on the phone).

Who cares about the Oneplus "camera"? Is it flat quality screen? The normal Oneplus price? Is the hardware up to date, with ip69 rating? Op7 is the same price as sgs10, without rating and worse camera.

AnonD-492870, 23 Aug 2019To understand that you need to ask ex-PureView techs and No... morePerhaps the round camera shape design helps the user get horny after extended use. Or may be it helps to stabilize the flight trajectory when the phone is being used as a self-defense brick being thrown in life threatening situations. I am not an engineer, I don't know.
What I DO know is Nokia phones became obsolete some 10 years ago, and the engineers that laid out the round design didn't have their ideas adopted by other companies (fortunately). Until now that is.

Round island is much better than iPhone and Pixel's square tumours.

Please don't... unless there is some great improbable engineering (packaging) advantage, please stick with square/rectangle-ish camera module designs on rectangle devices... and I guess it is subjective, but for me (and I am planing to get 7T pro, unless there will be some surprise), circle is not looking great here and I hope these are some old, long rejected sketches... but lets see ;)

Nowadays.....Huawei becomes a trendsetter.
From gradient color, square camera module, now this circular camera module.
I know i know the circular originated from Nokia, but when Huawei started it, everyone follows.
