Samsung releases 3D Scanner app for the Galaxy Note 10+

The company has published the app right on time, on the day that the phone officially became available.

Tof can be used to assist AF system, background blur and better depth for AR.
Most of the devices just use it for bokeh, which is waste of money and space.

    With Xperia software you need to surround the object, then you end up scanning 360 degrees.
    You just need to connect to a 3D printer and print it.

              What i'm talking about is the first smartphone to utilize the TOF sensor as autofocus, which is P30 Pro, instead just a 3d depth detection.

                      Perhaps the Note 10+ captures higher quality ones, but that's to be expected for a 2 years younger device and uses a more modern hardware to perform the task.

                              Is it you Pro, 24 Aug 2019Sony is using the laser sensor to do the metering measurem... morethe sony's laser detector is just another ToF device as it works the same way: measuring the Time required for a laser beam to Fly from the projector (source...) to the target and back to the sensor. Time of Flight :)).... same as the old good radar, but with laser beams instead of radio :) the problem is the way you direct and control the beam / beams to scan the area covered by sensor's fov, the laser power (shorter or larger distances..) and the available time for the scanning, thus you'll have only a loose grid if you do it fast or a dense one if you take your time. of course, the available computing power is an important factor.

                                ToF just a waste it doesn't speed up night autofocus but only use for 3D scanner.

                                  It's an app that doesn't even come pre-installed. Even if you don't want it, I don't understand why people here are so angry about it.

                                    Youtubers and reviewers prefer the small cut-out due to it not being as obtrusive.

                                    Im guessing if Huawei had a small cut out you be praising it but alas they dont.
