Huami unveils square Amazfit GTS, new round watch, teases smart band

The Amazfit GTS is square, unlike the round GTR. The Amazfit Smart Sports Watch is round and can last 70 hours with GPS on.

      Dear Huami, please make water resistant watches (at least 5ATM) with reflective display (always on) and battery life like BIP are... Or GTR with reflective display. Please make perfect watches, not the almost perfect ones...

            Also a watch is widely expected to "run" more than 24 hours, the apple watch does not, so more an interval timer in the ballpark of a "stopwatch"

              Sports look good, GTS looks like an uglier copy of AW, which are already ugly enough.

Huami is the manufacturer for it's own brand (Amazfit) and also for XIAOMI (under MI brand). Brand segmentation is blurry when you see the Amafit BIP using the MI FIT app. I had a Xiaomi MI Band 2 and now I own an Amazfit Pace. I felt there is more optimization and support from Xiaomi then from Huami. Now the apps look quite similar in design, yet feature wise there is the same brand segmentation. Amazfit app is very enclosed and limited compared with Mi Fit.

                  I own a Pace smartwatch from HUAMI / Amazfit and so far, I can confirm where the low prices come from: poor software optimization and terrible support. My watch can measure HR on anything ranging from my wallet to my desk.The AMAZFIT app is missing basic features when compared on XIAOMI's MI FIT. There is a very limited list of 12 activities that the watch can track. The ecosystem is limited to syncing ONLY the GPS activities with STRAVA. No Google Fit, no MyFitnessPal. They have competitive prices, great hardware, yet with the worst software experience ever. Great disappointment.

                              The Smart Sports Watch 3 looks nice. I am not too keen on the GTS as it looks like an I watch clone. But the other one has an original design. I saw it's unboxing video on YouTube and I feel it will sell well. Both will sell well.

                                  No thanks. I will wait for Amazfit Cayenne Turbo S. Also, Amazfit Urus releasing next year.
