Microsoft will release the HoloLens 2 in September

29 August 2019
The new model offers much wider field of view and hardware-accelerated eye and hand tracking. It's still too pricey for consumers, though.

AR Goggles should have been standard by 2020.
I wonder why development was stalled?

Hildr, 30 Aug 2019What does AR have to do with VR?Oh yeah, my bad. But the future is bright if the HoloLens can be bought by consumers in the not-so-near future.

How ridiculous. I was speaking to a manufacture who had 16k display capability about this sort of product before Hololens started. After this many years they are still on low resolution and small field of view. Human vision goes up to 210 or so degrees and around 24k resolution over that arc. Below 145 or so degrees and 8k at that angle is not so worth it. Are they really trying, like what happened with touch surface computing?
