New Li-Ion batteries get 10x boost

20 Dec, 2007
As Stanford researchers report, a heavy boost to current Lithium-Ion technology is just behind the corner. We are to expect up to 10 times more performance out of the same-volume batteries. As the new...

the mobile produces never seemed bothered about the batterylife on the mobiles they were producing now days as when they first started you could use your mobile about 4-5 days without charging, but they didn"t relise the cost of running your mobile at all, they put that many functions on them that o.k might look good at first but you were unable to use them as you battery was drained out, thats what got the n95 such a bad feedback an with the cost of the mobile, contract plus charging this made the n95 a very expensive mobile to run an buy, nokia then learned from this a bit an put the 1200mah battery on the 8gb one an my n95-3,there should be a law for mobile produces to make sure they stick to a standed rule making sure a mobile they produces lasts 2-3 days without charging then people can just buy any mobile they want without worrying about the batterylife on it as i beeen kept to the standed rule

Maybe this Silicon mAh batteries may damage the mobile phone because if the silicon get too big inside the battery and starts covering up the nano wires then it would damage your mobile phone! If you still use it then it may also cause an explosion in between the battery and even the battery can blow up!

Let's hope the Mah also doesn't increase the power and force of an exploding cellphone battery.

                    Correction :-

The 'mAh' of The Battery would most probably remain same but the way of storing power and transferring it would be different. Only minor changes in the amount of 'mAh' could be possible!

This Experiment wont be great!!! Due to the reason that the battery's life will get very short as you will charge it... Probably if your first charge lasts 30 days, quite probably in 2-3 charges or maybe less, the battery would be wasted because the Silicon will increase in size and block the recharging socket of the battery! This might risk your mobile, charger and even your electricity socket! This is a very dangerous task and i doubt if this can be accomplished!

i really hope they will take both ways... for the people who need phones like 8800, go with "minute" and for everybody else... well... bateries will have Ah and not mAh...

GREAT breakthrough in battery technology. Hats off to the inventer. This should have taken place maybe 5 to 8 years earlier. Battery manufacturers have certainly not kept pace in technology with the cellphones guys. Anyway, better late than never.

GPS within a phone drains the battery, and as a result the phone can barely be used.

This battery could be the perfect solution to the problem.
