Another thing, I think what Nokia got it wrong is customer perception. It may be that Symbian Belle or WP7.5 might be more efficient OSs compared to Android. But when someone who doesn't understand these things look at the 610 vs any mid range android and sees that they have 1Ghz processors or even soon dual cores + at least 512mb ram, expandable memory and larger storage for the same price or lower. Of course they will choose the android. Sure Nokia phones may do well on low spec, but it won't sell when compared.
Surely it can't cost that much more to put the newer hardware in there just to please the average consumer? Hell they probably won't even know what 1Ghz + really means. But anyone understands the higher the numbers the better right?

Sigh....what happened with Nokia. Gone are the good old days at the top of the mobile technology frontier with the N73/83/95 series phones, being light years ahead of the competition. We are now left with the company celebrating new releases in 2012 with 1Ghz processors....when Android devices have Tegra 3s.
I thought WP7.5 has high spec requirements, 800mhz/256mb on the 610 is just shocking.
At least the 900 unibody looks great. Samsung can learn a thing or 2 there. But you can't go past SGSII for doing just about anything you want. TBH who has a need for 4 cores in a friggin phone anyway??

Gladiator, 27 Feb 2012Yeah, n dis phones got nothin to run. So even low end nokia... moreThere's something wrong with your keyboard, you're missing some of the letters! But what do you mean - nothing to run? Lack of apps? There's plenty of apps on the WP platform, however theres no platform that can compeate with Androids 1400+ fart-generator apps... Quantity and quality is not the same ;)

How can Nokia announce the minimum requirements for Windows Phone 7, that surely is down to Microsoft's Windows Dept, not Nokia. They just make and conform to the restrictions.

My only issue with the 900 (and it's a nice looking phone) apart from the OS still being in its infancy... is that it's essentially the same phone as the 800 last year... just a big bigger... it's hard to differentiate... exact same design, etc. and of course because of the OS, same specs...
Not sure how well it'll do - as most people who wanted this kind of phone, will have probably bought the 800...
