Aminul Islam, 08 Sep 2019Hey gsmarena you are absolutely to the point. Mediatek chip... moreUsing SD 712 or 730? Have you heard of Helio G90 series? I think no! Well, the chipset used in Nte 8 Pro is Helio G90T whose AnTuTu benchmark performance clearly says that it beats SD730 series single-handedly. And if you know it, then I think you are having a wrong disappointment brother!

This worst performance of Note 8 is something not digestible by Snapdragon fans and now when I am saying negative for snapdragon, will society accept me? IDC, what I want to say is that being expensive doesn't mean you are good all the time, MediaTek staying on the track being inexpensive and performing so good that we are able to do everything that an SD fanatic can do.

Wan, 08 Sep 2019Realme xt with snapdragon and super amoled far far far ... moreHere, we are talking about gaming smartphones and Redmi Note 8 Pro with its smart MediaTek Helio G90T is superior to any other chipset in the mid-range segment. I wonder why people would take expensive, not-so-good products like Realme XT only to see them heating.

Nolan, 08 Sep 2019MediaTek phones do not have device GPS support, and that's ... moreWhat do you mean by life span? Is it something perishable you buy? Everything is meant to stay long if kept that way, MediaTek chipsets are way better in the range we buy them and I am using a phone with Helio P35, using it for a nominal use and it is doing so great and so better that it is going to stay with me for long.

Gaurav , 09 Sep 2019See I get it what you are saying but Xiaomi has said that t... moreDepending on your country this may differ.
For example, my parents still use 4-year-old phones, my friend has a 15-year-old Nokia as a daily driver along with a 3 years old smartphone for social networks.
I have a 4 years old phone and a 2 years old phone in my pocket, and most people I know try to keep their phones for more than five years.

If you live in a first world country doesn't mean everyone has the luxury to switch phones every day. And phone makers have that in mind.

It's shocking to see people bragging Xiaomi performing bad and then jumping on to MediaTek. It's hard to believe like people are so ready to say wrong things in no matter of time. My brother using Xiaomi from 4 years and it's 3 times he has broken his phone and he again buys Xiaomi just for the trust and then even I am using a phone with Helio P60 with all the google apps functioning so well like I daily travel with cab and easily locate the delivery boy carrying my food!

            STOP BRAGGING!

Speaking of custom ROM and RAM, you think custom ROM is needed with 128GB of internal storage and 8GB of RAM. I don't think so. Until or unless you are a developer these shouldn't bother us.
Smartphone these days anyways doesn't come with long life span, you will hardly use a smartphone for a year and the 8GB RAM and 128GB ROM will be more than enough.

The fact that it beats Snapdragon 730 by a huge margin in terms of AnTuTu scores, MediaTek Helio G90T is sure to offer even greater response in India than in China. Plus, the affordable price and great camera specs to back its utility.

And 300,000 is not a small number so I think MediaTek did a pretty good job and the new MediaTek gaming chipset is sure to have a lot of fire in it.

It's a matter of the location and they have really brought some better specs with this Helio G90T in Note 8 Pro, we better have a hands-on it first and then decide!

I find Redmi Note 8 Pro pretty impressive for the features. Mediatek Helio g90T comes with a lot of power and amazing features. it can play PUBG effortlessly unless snapdragon chipsets which starts lagging after gameplay of 1 hour.... With 8GB RAM and 128GB ROM, who needs custom ROM... Helio G90T is perfect for PUBG lovers

Most average consumers wouldn't really care much about chipsets or software updates custom ROM or rooting or whatever. As long as it can run PUBG Mobile and Mobile Legends: Bang Bang fast and no lag, that's all that mattered.

They would believe that any modern SoC can already run most apps (which is true), can't tell how big is a "big" battery and are probably unaware of recent mobile photography development.

Most of people on this page are tech enthusiasts.

Your average consumer will have no idea, and it's unlikley he/she will even ask about chipset or know the difference. They will buy it because it's cheap.

Then no updates and other stuff... you get it, the user experience will suck, because the phone sucks, and the phone sucks because chipset sucks... also with all recent hassle about ads even in apps like Calendar on Xiaomi phones... I think Xiaomi sucks.

I mean, I get it, they're cheap, they offer a good hardware for the money, yeah, but their hardware isn't even near top notch. Samsung for example will cost more, but you get a better camera, audio... you get it. Same goes for Huawei and others.

If you're someone like me who doesn't know how to root a phone and put a stock Android on it... you're in for a bad time with MIUI...
