as far as i know, it was really a few years then, intel has planned "atom" for smaller devices like the netbooks, pdas, mobile phones. But i think, they really had to work hard to make perfect it. As we all know, most netbooks have it. It just really took them a long time, but i guess, it's not yet too late. Let's just see what they could do.

It is too late and too little for Intel to enter the mobile and portable devices as dominate by ARM processor.

Great news. Intel was destined to enter this market segment, being a invincible player in desktop market. I hope Intel will release something as good Sandy bridge in mobile CPU market that is going to completely outperform the Qualcomm, Apple etc processors.

At 533MHz you can expect roughly twice the shader/compute performance of the 543MP2 that's in the A5." You can read the whole article here: http://www.anandtech.com/show/5592/intel-atom-z2580-z2000 Before you so glibly contradict anyone, please read up a little bit more.

blueglue, 28 Feb 2012My point is, HT has its importance. In comparison to having... moreIntel introduced HT technology so they can offer something a dual core CPU could do but at a much cheaper price...
For those who don't know, HT simply means 2 threads that are run at both the same time and they both execute at the same time... before HT, on a single core, we had a race condition where 1 thread would finish before the other thread....
HT eliminated 1 thread finishing first as both threads will execute at the exact same time so they both finish at the same time, same thing could be achieved by using a 2 core CPU for example 1 CPU would deal with all the graphics on 1 thread, and the 2d CPU would control the 2nd core and deal with all the sound... 50/50 directing the processor...
obviously, 1 processor could be maxed out to 100% to do what 2 cores do by using HT... HT makes it easier for single core processors, dual, quad core makes HT seem like a marketing tactic that's not going to work with any device with more than 1 CPU.

I think that intel should have come early and would have easily won because no 1 noes snapdragon or d odrs but people would have been happy came to know that their phone is powered by a intel processor and would have felt like they have a computer

Why interl graphic is so poor compared to NVIDIA. I noticed that last version of Macbook air or Macbook pro that used interl graphic is not as good as NVIDIA graphic. I think if apple use intel graphic chip the quality of apple will be downgrated.

I don't think Intel wants to work with Nokia at the moment.
